Interview With Carl Kerby.

Today I have an interview with Carl Kerby. He is a well-known Creation speaker. Children will love his talks and the adults will learn a lot. If he is ever in your area, go to his meetings!! And please check out his website as he has so much information on there. This is a long interview, but he is very passionate on what he believes. Please read it!!

Thank you for being with us today, Carl!
Thank you Charity, it's very kind of you to include me in your ministry.

Can you tell us a little bit about your new book?
The Absotively, Posilutely Best Evidence For Creation is a book that I did to try and encourage the younger generation to share their faith. It's based on a talk that I've been doing for a long time where we talk about the amazing design features we see in animals all over the world. That talk actually came about as a consequence of a conversation with Dr David Menton. I love Dr. Menton. He is one of the most amazing men I've ever met. He tuaght Histology at Washinton University School of Medicine for over 30 years. That's the top 1% of of medical students he taught to be doctors. His knowledge of the human body is awesome. Just to illustrate what I mean by that I'll never forget one time when he talked to me for 30 minutes about mucous! I'm not joking he made mucous fun for 30 minutes. Don't get him started on earwax! Anyway, one day we were talking and he said, "Carl, if I were standing on top of Mt. Ararat, inside of a petrified wooden structure, that would be the second best evidence that God judged sin and sent a global flood!" As a speaker I'm always looking for a way to capture the audiences attention, he had mine with this statement. Everybody wants a piece of the ark, I hear it all the time. If we could just find the ark, everyone would believe. That's just not the case! I said to him, "Okay Dr. Menton, you got me! Everyone wants to find the ark to prove the Bible is true. If that's not the best evidence for a global flodd, what is?" He kind of smiled at me and said, "The Bible! If God told me that He did something in His Word, He did it and I can trust it more than a piece of petrified wood!" I was so embarassed, of course the Word of God is the best evidence and I had fallen for the "evidence". As a consequence, I put together a talk with all the really need "evidence" we see in the animal kingdom that screams there's a creator, show that but it's never the "best" until we get to the Word of God.As my children were growing up I started using little examples that we saw in the world to show them how what we see in the world is consistent with God's Word. I tried to then take all those experiences and put them in a book!

When a reader gets done with your book, what do you want them to come away with?
My desire is that parents would be more involved in showing their children how the world we see around us confirms the Bible, it doesn't contradict it, as well as for the children to know why they believe what they believe so they can become more effective in sharing their faith. This next generation has got to step up and reach out to a lost culture. They're much more able to reach their generation than I am. I'm just trying to give them a simple tool to help them speak up.

Is there a place you have always wanted to visit? A vacation spot, etc.
Wow, tough question. My family has been very blessed to travel quite a bit. This will sound superficial, and it is, I would love to go King Salmon fishing in Alaska! Been a dream for a long time.

If you could have dinner with 2 people, who would they be?
As a Christian, Jesus would have to be one of them without a doubt. The second, hmm! I would have to say...President George Washington. I really had to think on this, came back to it 2 or 3 times. I think President Washington because the Founding of our Nation would have been another amazing event. To talk directly to him and see what he was thinking about where this thing would end up would be very interesting.

What one event would you love to be at? Historical or future?
Past-The resurrection of Christ! To borrow the words from a song, I can only imagine! That just had to be a totally overwhelming situation to witness.

Do you have a favorite hobby?
I am an avid disc golfer and I love to fish as well.

Is there something about you most people wouldn't know?
I am scared of heights and claustrophobic, big time.

Can you tell us a little about your family?
I'm a blessed man! My wife, Masami, is from Japan and we have been married over 28 years. Our daughter, Alisa, is 27 and married to Bob, a paramedic. Our son, Carl Jr, is 26 and married to Tish, who is from South Africa. They're expecting our first grandchild, July 15, 2010.

Any last thoughts for your readers?
My challenge would be for the Christians to get invloved in sharing their faith. We've sat by idly for too long and let the world turn into a pretty bad place. Until Christians are willing to stand up, be bold and speak the truth in love for what they say they believe, as well as live a life that is consistent with their lips we can't expect things to get any better.

And how can they connect with you?
Through Facebook, me website-www.carlkerby.com, Twitter and my email, ckerby@yahoo.com.
Thank you again Charity!

Thank YOU Carl!! It was a blessing to be able to interview you:)
