Interview With Julie Cave and Book Giveway

Well readers, today we have author Julie Cave with us. She is the author of the new book Deadly Disclosures. I have been sent a review copy, which I will post my review as soon as I read it, along with a copy to giveaway so make sure you read to the end to find out how to enter:)
Thank you for being with us today, Julie!

How long have you known you wanted to be an author?
As soon as I could pick up a pencil and use it to form words! I’ve been writing stories since I can remember, pestering every adult I knew to read them. Since I started writing novel-length stories at the age of twelve, I knew that I wanted to be an author.

Can you tell me a little bit about your book?
Deadly Disclosures is a novel set in Washington D.C., where the Secretary of the Smithsonian goes missing. FBI agent Dinah Harris is asked to investigate, despite a checkered history and her current struggles with alcohol and depression. When colleagues connected to the Secretary start being killed after talking to the FBI, Dinah realizes that she is facing a powerful conspiracy and a faceless mastermind who will stop at nothing to hide the truth.

When a reader gets done with your book, what do you want them to come away with?
I would l
ike them to question what they believe about topics such as whether there is a God, where and how life began, and why there is death and suffering in the world. The objective of the book is to provide a logical defense of the Christian faith around these topics and to challenge both Christians and non-Christians alike to examine the reasons behind their belief.

Is there a place you have always wanted to visit? A vacation spot, historical monument, overseas, etc?
I would love to hire a RV and tour around Europe, visiting places that are off the beaten track. I would love to see southern France, Lake Como, the Alps, Prague, the coast of Croatia. But I think I’ll wait until my child is a little more grown up to attempt that!

If you could have dinner with 2 people, who would they be?
I would like to have C.S. Lewis (one of my favourite childhood authors) and Dr Benjamin Carson, an inspirational Christian neurosurgeon whose books I also read throughout my childhood/adolescence.
What one event would you love to be at? Historical or future?
Considering I’m a sports fanatic, there is really only one answer to that – every State of Origin game won by Queensland! (The sport is rugby league, which is huge in my home state and we love to beat our arch-rivals, New South Wales)

Do you have a favorite hobby?
Writing has actually always been my hobby, but I also love to watch sports.

Is there something about you most people wouldn't know?
I never know how a book is going to end until I start writing it. I have some vague ideas about how I’d like it to finish, but usually the finished product is quite different from those ideas!

Do you have any suggestions for the aspiring writer?
Practice, practice, practice. The only way to improve as a writer is to practice, read and seek feedback. If you are serious about writing, I’d suggest starting a blog and use this to hone your writing skills as well as connecting with an audience.

Any last thoughts for your readers?
I hope that my book challenges you, scares you a little and keeps you up well into the night! Ultimately, I hope that it causes you to think about why you believe what you believe concerning the origins of life, Christianity and your faith.

And how can they connect with you?
You can visit me at www.juliecave.com; www.facebook.com/julieacave and www.twitter.com/julieacave. I hope to see you there!

Thank you so much Julie! It was a pleasure to have you here.

My favorite childhood author was Enid Blyton. She wrote wonderful adventure books like The Ship of Adventure. They were a series of adventure books centered around three siblings (if my old memory serves me right).
