How long have you known you wanted to be an author?
I've always loved writing and began with short stories when I was just six. But
I didn't really have aspirations of being a published author until early in
college. After college, I really began working on my writing, fine tuning it to
pursue my dream.
Can you tell me a little bit about your newest book?
Vanishing Actis the story of Nora James, who, after seeing her father shot in a
Portland alley, begins a new life in Colorado as Danielle Keating. When a
ruthless assassin starts tracking her down, she's plunged back into the world
she though she left behind. But this time, FBI Agent Nate Andersen is on her
side. He'll do anything to protect her ... except give her his heart. But what
will he do when a deadly confrontation leaves both on the line?
When a reader gets done with your book, what do you want them to come away with?
First, I hope that readers will be encouraged and entertained. I hope that
they'll be reminded that God is in control. We don't have to be afraid,
because God already has the situation in hand.
Is there a place you have always wanted to visit? A vacation spot, historical
monument, overseas, etc?
Yes! I've always loved Anne of Green Gables, so naturally I've always wanted
to visit Prince Edward Island. So much so that I've been promising my mom for
years that I would take her on a trip to the island when I sold my first book.
Of course, then I discovered that I didn't make much money right away on the
first book, so we had to make it the second. To celebrate the release of
Vanishing Act, my mom and I are taking our trip this August! Complete with a
stay at a bed and breakfast, a trip to Anne's Land, and lots of exploring of the
sweet little island.
If you could have dinner with 2 people, who would they be?
I'm a huge fan of the Harry Potter series, and I would love to meet J.K.
Rowling. I'm so curious to pick her mind as a writer. I also find her personal
story fascinating and would love to hear her tell it--in her accent. :) I'd also
love to spend an evening with my sister. We don't get to spend enough time
together, as we live on opposite sides of the country. She's awesome, and we
always have a good time together. Dinner with my sister and J.K. Rowling
together? AWESOME!
What one event would you love to be at? Historical or future?
I love the Civil War era, and I think I would love to be at the Appomattox
Courthouse for the end of the war. To see those amazing men in one room. To hear
what they said. That would be absolutely incredible.
Do you have a favorite hobby?
Of course I love to read! I read all sorts of books from young adult novels to
history books to Bible study books. I'm also a huge movie buff. I love a good
story told well.
Is there something about you most people wouldn't know?
I wanted to be a ballerina when I was a kid. I have zero dance skills, and the
only grace in my life is from God. But I was sure I could be a dancer. Um ...
not so much. It's good that I'm a writer instead. :)
Do you have any suggestions for the aspiring writer?
There's always the basic--get your seat in the chair and start writing. Beyond
that, I think the best thing to do it remember to have fun. Sure, there's lots
to learn about writing. It takes a lot of hard work to get great at any
craft. But it's always very, very fun! Tell stories that you love. Tell stories
that you'd want to read. That helps keep it fun, even when you don't feel like
writing.
Any last thoughts for your readers?
Thank you so much! I'm so humbled and honored by the readers who spend their
time on my books. It's a pleasure to write for all of you.

I love the WWII era and I have read several books that have covered what our men and women went through. The synopsis of this book is intriguing and one that I would like to read. Thank you so much for hosting this giveaway.

not sure if an aussie can enter but when I saw Liz mention the Civil war and being at the court house in Appomattox I have to say The civil war also fascinates me also.
Its a war that could have been over in one battle but ended lasting 4 years and so many innocent men lost there lives and the bitterness and destruction was unbelievable.
My favourite move is Gettysburg. its also interesting the war wasn't really about slavery but thats what its remembered for. Please enter me if an aussie can enter.
My favorite era is the Regency Era, known as the Federal Era here in the U.S. Our country was young and being defined. So many exciting things taking place. I would love to sit down and talk with John Adams and Thomas Jefferson!

I love the Civil War era also. I love the dresses and the simple way of life. I grew your own vegs and worked your own land. You depended on your family and friends to help you when you needed it. What a time..
Great post
