Giveaway with Candace Calvert for Code Triage!!

Hi Charity!

It’s great to have a chance to mingle with your delightful readers again—and to offer your lucky winner a signed copy of Code Triage, my newest medical drama.  Here’s what folks are saying about this exciting third book in the Mercy Hospital series:

“ . . . an adrenalin high with professional realism ripped from today’s headlines and enough romantic tension to spike your pulse.” –Julie Lessman, The Daughters of Boston series

"If you need an infusion of hospital drama, Code Triage is just the prescription!"
-- Irene Hannon, bestselling author, Heroes of Quantico series

“This is great writing that’s full of faith and hope."
--Richard Mabry M.D. author of Code Blue

“. . . ratchets up the action . . . readers should definitely pick up . . .” –Romantic Times,  4-Stars

And here’s a description from the back cover of Code Triage:

Dr. Leigh Stathos likes her ER shifts fast, furious and adrenaline-infused, “Treat ‘em and street ‘em” with no emotional complications. Life’s taught her a soul-rending lesson: nothing lasts forever, including marriage. The clock is ticking toward the end of hers. Then an unwelcome confrontation with “the other woman” begins a whole new set of lessons.

San Francisco police officer Nick Stathos never gives up, whether protecting his patrol neighborhood, holding fast to faith—or trying to save his marriage. Seven days is all he has to reach Leigh’s heart. But when a desperate act of violence slams Golden Gate Mercy Hospital into lockdown, it starts a chain of events that will change lives forever.

For more information and to read the dramatic first chapter of Code Triage, I invite you to visit my website at:

Happy reading . . . and good luck!

Candace

I have a nephew-in-law who is a physician's assistant, and a BIL who is a nurse practitioner. Two of my nieces worked in respiratory therapy, but have since moved on to more administrative/director positions. I've done a medical terminology class for my former work, learned a ton!

My son has inoperable tumors on his legs. Three days before surgery, we were in the surgeon's office. He did a catscan, and we all saw the tumor on his calf. It was the size of an orange. When he did the surgery, he couldn't find the tumor. It had broken apart in those 3 days. He removed what he could. Within 2 months it had grown back, so he had another surgery. This time the tumor split his calf muscles to the bone. It destroyed the mylen sheath of the nerve endings in that region. The surgeon has been practicing for 20 years and never seen anything like it. Since then,(the beginning of the year), my son now has at least 4 more in the area, and it has spread to the other leg.

My mom's cousin's daughter is a doctor... I'm not sure if it counts, but she is family!

Hmmm... a medical story? Well, five years ago I was diagnosed with Addison's Disease, which is when your adrenal glands don't function correctly. Short version of the story, I almost died, but by the grace of God I'm alive today!

A medical story to tell? Well, when I was 18 I had to get my tonsils out because of a serious infection. I won't go into detail, though! lol.

Alright, let me think of a medical story... my wife's dad had his heart stop beating on the operating table once. It wasn't for very long, but it was still pretty scary for all of us.

My grandmother was a nurse and did private duty. My uncle became a nurse later one in life. My other uncle became a surgeon's assistant. My cousin is a nurse and my daughter wants to be a nurse that helps with new born babies.

I'm SO THANKFUL others want to be nurses and Dr's so I don't have to. I think it definately takes a special talent and gift to be a nurse and a Dr. I thank God for them every day.

Thanks for entering me in the contest. I've read Candice's other two books and LOVED them. I can't wait to read this one.

Over this past summer I had a major medical emergency. I had an accident in the kitchen with a huge pot of boiling water. I ended up with 2nd degree burns on 30% of my body. It was on both legs, my chest, my entire right arm and shoulder, my stomach, both feet. I've never felt pain like that before in my life. I was very lucky and did not need surgery and it took me about a month and half to fully heal. I still have lots of scarring and my skin is constantly dry but I'm thankful it was not more serious than that.
