My Review of A Suitor for Jenny by Margaret Brownley

I recently received a copy of this book, A Suitor for Jenny, from Booksneeze. This is written by Margaret Brownley and is book 2 in the Rocky Creek Romance Series.

When looking for a husband, it’s best to go where the odds are in your favor.

And that would be Rocky Creek, Texas, 1880. But Jenny Higgins's plan to find husbands for her two sisters hits a snag when enthusiastic applicants fail to meet her stringent requirements.

Rejecting her sisters' choices for mates and riding herd on her growing feelings for Marshal Rhett Armstrong, she refuses to give up.

Jenny thinks choosing a husband is not a job for the heart. It'll take one strong and handsome marshal to convince her otherwise.

I did not read the first one in this series so I am coming in without knowing anything about the other characters. I did not have a problem with this though because the author does a good job of making the other characters known. Sara is in it from the first book and her husband is the pastor in this small town. The book was easy to get into and I finished it in one day. I really like historical books and this is one of those old time historicals. Margaret has a great way of writing and her humor is so funny! There was one thing I didn't like but it went both ways. The two younger sisters both go contrary to what their sister sets down for rules. But the older sister was wrong in her rules. So like I said, I go both ways on it. I loved the interchange between Jenny and Rhett!! And the part with Brenda was really funny:)

Overall I liked this book. The author has a good flair in her writing and the style is good. Very humorous and funny. A great historical!

Thanks to Booksneeze for sending me a copy of this book for review. All thoughts are 100% mine. I did not receive any monetary compensation.
