Book Blast Event Day 10 Paul McCusker

BOOK BLAST EVENT
DAY 10
PAUL MCCUSKER

Well, this is a somewhat new author for me. I have read one of his books for review, which will be offered in this giveaway, but other than that, I have not read anything else he has written. So, is he new to you? Have you read anything by Paul McCusker before? If not, welcome to a new author! If you have, then come join in the fun as an encouragement to Paul:)

Thank you for being with us today, Paul!!! How long have you known you wanted to be an author?
I've been writing creatively in one form or another since I first learned to write. My mother has given me little cards, notes, home-made newspapers and drawings I did when I was still in elementary school. They were bad poems, mostly.

Can you tell me a little bit about your newest book?
My latest grown-up novel was written with Dr. Walt Larimore. It's the second book in the TSI series called "The Influenza Bomb." TSI stands for "Time-Scene Investigators" and is a series of medical thrillers. This latest book tells the story of a plot by terrorists to get hold of a terrible virus created by the Nazis towards the end of World War 2 in order to trigger a modern holocaust. The TSI team must use their medical and historical knowledge to try to stop them. The first TSI book was called "The Gabon Virus."

I've also co-authored a couple of chapter books for Focus on the Family, as part of the new Imagination Station series. It's a spin-off from the Adventures In Odyssey series.

When a reader gets done with your book, what do you want them to come away with?
I hope that readers will be entertained, if nothing else. Beyond that, I hope the themes will help inspire and inform the readers, touching their minds and hearts in a way that goes beyond mere entertainment.

Is there a place you have always wanted to visit? A vacation spot, historical monument, overseas, etc?
I would love to visit Rome one day - and out into other parts of Italy.

If you could have dinner with 2 people, who would they be?
If time-travel were possible: CS Lewis and GK Chesterton. Or, in the present age: Pope Benedict or Paul McCartney - though, not at the same time :)

What one event would you love to be at? Historical or future?
Historically, the resurrection of Jesus Christ. I'm not sure about the present or future.

Do you have a favorite hobby?
I love music and movies.

Is there something about you most people wouldn't know?
Most people don't know that I once talked to the film director Frank Capra for a couple of hours on the phone. He is one of my favorites, best known for directing "It's A Wonderful Life."

Do you have any suggestions for the aspiring writer?
I suggest that aspiring writers should read a lot - and then read some more - learning was separates the best writing from the worst. And, more than anything, keep writing.

Any last thoughts for your readers?
I'm happy to hear about any types of stories they'd love to read.

And how can they connect with you?
PaulMcCusker.com is a good place to go.

All the best,
Paul

THANK YOU PAUL!! Those were some excellent answers readers and give us a glimpse into the life of a famous author. I really love being able to do that with the interviews and it has really been a joy to me. I hope you enjoy getting to know them a little bit more as well.

I'd like someone to write a novel on a cold case. It's more than 20 years old, and the murderer hasn't been found--yet!

I always like books about cold cases getting solved. Or lately I like the idea of the book being told from the viewpoint of the deceased victim (Like the Lovely Bones movie-but much better done!!)
