My Review of When All My Dreams Come True by Janelle Mowery.

Let me ask you all something. Do you prefer a book that is historical or modern? I am a big fan of historical books! Give me a novel set back in the 1800's and I am very happy! So I was excited to review a recent book titled, When All My Dreams Come True, by Janelle Mowery. This is a historical book and has a very interesting plot. You don't find many with this type of plot:) The beginning of a book always tells me a lot and the opener of this book is quite exciting!

Throughout this book you have a lot of interesting characters. Young women who are different from the standard of the day, people who are not what you think they are and then those who are just trying to follow the leading they have been given. You have exciting points with fires, bank robberies, accusations and stampeding cattle. Mixed in with all this fun are the quite, learning times. There is a lot of scripture and Bible teaching throughout but not in a way that shoves it down the readers throat. This book is entertaining as well as educational. I learned some things about brands and branding I had never heard of before:) Who said a fiction book can't be educational as well.

Overall this book was very well written. The characters are likable and the dialogue flows. There is one part I did not care for. Maybe it is just me but it seems like a lot more Christian fiction books recently have had attempted assault in them. This happens twice in this book. The first time was nothing major and was just a guy trying to kiss a girl, but the next time was a little much for me. Yes I want the plot and characters to be life like but I think our stories do not need these instances in them. This is just my personal preference so please don't attack me, but it bothers me enough I feel like I have to say something.

Overall, I loved this book! The historical part was wonderful and that characters were very lovable. I can't wait for the next book in the series to come out and I already have the second and third book on my wish list:)

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Harvest House Publishers for review purposes. I did not receive any monetary compensation. All thoughts are 100% mine.

I was looking through your blog roll for a post to comment on. The cover of this book caught my eye.

I love historicals too. Especially cowboy/rancher ones. I'll have to look for this one sometimes.

Thanks for a very informative review.
