Beautiful Healthy Body Event "Get off the Couch Potato!"

Well, sorry for the absence of posting for the body event. Things have been really hectic and it seems like I barely have time to get on and post. But I will be having more of these posts so keep an eye out:) Today I have a book review. I was going to give this book away but it has been signed from the author to me. But I seriously urge you to pick up this book. It is titled, Get off the Couch Potato by Kathi Casey. The title and blurb about this book is hysterical and I am sure you are going to love it!

This is a powerful 30 day program of easy exercises which you can begin while lying on the couch watching TV. Perfect for everyone who has put off exercising due to lack of time or lack of enthusiasm and now has packed on the excess weight. Lose the extra pounds and gain your youthful vitality - all while having fun! Wellness expert Kathi Casey leads you through each day with enthusiasm, positive affirmations and good humor. Her exercises are easy and most can be done without taking extra time from your already jam-packed schedules. In a book destined to become a classic, Kathi Casey shows us how to take charge of our own Health and well-being - emerging energized and stronger in both body and mind. And "Oh by the way", the book is printed with soy ink on certified recycled paper, good for you and good for the planet!

I love doing exercises. So long as they aren't too hard! Isn't that the way most of us feel? Well, feel that way no more! This book has little exercises that slowly add up. Things like leg lifts, push ups on the couch, breathing exercises, etc. These are small things but how quickly they add up!!

Kathi does a great job going slow but sure. Whether you can tart with 5 leg lifts or a little bit more, she doesn't harp or push. And each day there is an affirmation. These are little sayings that are good for you and she tells you to post them somewhere that you will see them daily. On your fridge or bathroom mirror. I loved this! I tried doing these several days in a row but I have to tell you, we don't have a couch. I was doing these on my bed when I got up in the morning and went to bed in the evening. After the first couple days I could feel my legs tightening. Nothing major but it was enough for me to keep going:) I did skip a couple days because something came up and I was not able to do them. Times where I got up at 6 in the morning, slept in a chair in the hospital, etc. Not able to do the exercises there:)

This is a great book for someone who is starting up exercising after they have been absent for a while. Or for the expectant mother or the person who is just starting to exercise! This is a great book for pretty much anybody:D A powerful 30 day exercise program that is gentle yet effective. I would suggest checking out Kathi's website, Kathi Casey Pilates. I didn't realize this was the Baby Boomer Health and Wellness Coach! Boy does she have a ton of information on her website:)

I received a copy of this book for review purposes. I did not receive any monetary compensation. All thoughts are 100% mine.
