As part of this challenge, I have been trying to eat better. More chicken and fish, salads, yogurt, fruit, berries and veggies. Whenever we travel or are in town for lunch, it gets a bit hard to find good things to eat. But one place I know I can find a good meal is at Subway. This is a place where you can find anything for your diet. Whether you need low fat, low carb or just plain all over better for you, Subway is the place to go! I used to think they were just a lunch place, but recently they have started carrying breakfast items. And I was soo overjoyed when I was able to get a $10 Subway gift card to try out their new breakfast yogurt parfait!! I didn't even know they had come out with this but I love yogurt and berries together.
With a $10 card I knew I would have extra, so I just had to try out another sandwich as well:) I went in around lunchtime to my local Subway, located inside WalMart, and ordered a yogurt parfait and an oven roasted chicken breast sub. The yogurt parfait was freshly made and they put it together right then. I was very impressed with this! It had not been sitting out since that morning. I got a lot of veggies on my sub including all the lettuce, tomato, onion, green pepper and spinach. I do like pickles on my sub so that was included. And I got it on the best bread I have ever tasted! The Honey Oat is delicious!!
I got this to go as I had some other stuff to attend to but when I got home I opened up the sub and the parfait. Yes it was kind of odd eating them both together but it actually didn't taste funny:) The parfait was very well made with a good amount of berries and yogurt. Sometimes there are too many berries and other times there are not enough. I normally get my parfait's at another restaurant but after finding out that Subway carries them, I just might be purchasing them there from now on.
Anyways, back to my parfait:) There is a little baggie of granola that you can add or leave off. I tried mine with a little bit of the granola as I am a big fan of granola. I much more prefer the yogurt and berries. This came with strawberries and blueberries. They were fresh and ripe. The yogurt was good and the parfait was a perfect blend. I loved it!! This was not at all expensive and I would definitely purchase it again in the future.
My sub was perfect and was great for my diet. Lots of veggies and fresh taste! I really enjoyed it and the whole meal was delicious. I stayed in my diet limits and still had a great lunch! If you are looking for a healthy yet delicious meal, please check out Subway. They have a ton of options for any diet. Also, they have $5 footlong subs that are great! I love the taste:)
So, in my opinion, Subway is a perfect restaurant for a diet. And one of my readers will be able to try out their own parfait!! Yep, you heard me right:) Subway has offered to give a $10 gift card to one of my readers!!! You will really enjoy this:) They also have a deal right now where if you buy $25 worth of gift cards you get a free 6 inch sub!!
