Book Review of When Love Gets in the Way by Janelle Mowery

Howdy folks! I have just come from a wonderful old west town and the delightful characters that I met while there. No really, I just feel like it with the book I was reading. If you can't tell, I reviewed a very interesting book:) When Love Gets in the Way is the second book in the Colorado Runaway Series by Janelle Mowery. I found it a great read and will tell you more about it below.

Grace Bradley wishes all she touches would turn to gold. Instead, it tends to tarnish…that is, until she finds freedom on the Double K Ranch. Grace is fleeing from the man her father chose to be her husband. But once her heart is captured by her new employer’s best friend, and she finally understands the meaning of God’s sacrificial love, she relinquishes her independence to save her loved ones.

Cade Ramsey contemplates running for dear life from the accident-prone nuisance he brought to his hometown. The trouble that trails her seems to latch on to him at every turn. But when Grace manages to win his calloused heart, he chases her down, praying he can keep her from following through on a decision that could ruin their lives.

An adventurous novel of faith, hope, and love in the Wild West.

MY THOUGHTS-My favorite type of book is a historical. Don't get me wrong, I love a mystery, but my favorite is an old western type novel. Janelle Mowery came on the scene not too long ago and I quickly became a fan of her books after reading the first Colorado Runaway book. I reviewed that previously on my blog so you can see where the story comes in.

This book deals with Grace and Cade. You are introduced to them in the end of When All My Dreams Come True and this book is the tale of these two:) I am telling you, I fell in love with this book! It is a wonderful story full of interesting characters and humorous dialogue. One thing I enjoy in a book is good dialogue and this one has some funny conversations!! Grace is probably the funniest lady I have read about in a while. It seems like every time she turns around, something falls apart or Cade gets hurt:) This is hysterical and I was laughing so hard when they have the tangle with the goat. My family was wondering what was wrong with me:D

This book kind of brought out how much you love someone and how you treat someone with a different skin color. The first part deals with how Cade feels about Grace. He feels like she is always causing trouble so why should he like her? But love gets in the way:D The second part is kind of a subplot that deals with Belle and Joseph, who happen to be black. I think Janelle deals with this in a very good manner that shows there is no difference and they should be treated the same exact way.

There are several spots with mystery and the fun of this series is that there is a storyline that runs through all three of these books. I have read the third book and will be posting my review soon so you will be able to hear about them. Excellent book that I would urge you to pick up for the book lover. This can be found at Harvest House Publishers. Make sure to watch the book trailer below!

I received a copy of this book for review purposes. I did not receive any monetary compensation. All thoughts are 100% mine.

I love western related books, and cowboys. And a love story to what more could a girl want. Does she get away from the husband her dad picked for her or what happens in the end.
