Food Fights Book Review & Giveaway

I am one of those people who likes the whole family to eat better. So when I heard about this book, I knew it was one I wanted to read. You can read about it below and also make sure to enter the giveaway! I received an extra copy to give away to one of my readers.

Bring "peas and harmony" to the family table with Food Fights, 2nd edition!

Knowing what to feed children is one thing. Getting them to eat it is quite another!
In Food Fights, 2nd edition, the authors tastefully blend the science of nutrition and pediatrics with the practical insights of parents who have been in your shoes―offering simple solutions for your daily nutritional challenges. Whether you've got an infant, toddler, or young child, Food Fights promises entertaining, reality-based advice on:

▪ How to pick your battles (and arm yourself accordingly)
▪ Whining and dining, throwing food, and other dietary distractions
▪ Heaping helpings, TV dinners, fast food, and other nutritional minefields
▪ Eating out, grocery shopping, and travel
▪ The 5-second rule
▪ Drinking and dozing, juice, soda pop, and other classic drinking problems
▪ Sick kids, vitamins, body weight, allergies, constipation, spitting up…and so much more!

This revised second edition also includes new chapters on healthy breakfasts, what's lacking in snacking, and supermarket sanity, and serves up important guidance on making sense of package labels and choosing foods wisely. Add the cornucopia of resources such as recipes for success, a nutrient primer, and phone apps that help families stay on a tech-savvy track to good nutrition and this new and improved edition of Food Fights is guaranteed to leave you satisfied.

MY REVIEW-When I first saw this book, I figured it was about getting your children to eat foods they don't like. But boy was I wrong! This book is so much more than that! Not only does it cover foods your children don't like but it also covers foods that are bad for your children, what to feed them when they are sick, etc.

One thing I like with this book is how Jennifer and Laura have different points or ratings for how to do things. Like they have 5 ratings for if something is a big deal. Is making your child drink skim milk over 2% milk worth a huge fight? Giving them a sippy cup? Things like this are rated so you know how important something is. And there are certain things you might have your own opinion on and they freely give you opportunity for this. You know what is best for your child but they lay down some very good guidelines and in an entertaining manner. You don't really feel like you are reading a nutrition book and that is what makes it good!

They cover everything from babies to toddlers and up. Breastfeeding, sippy cups, etc. All this is covered in a thorough and refreshing manner. Whether you are a new parent or this sounds like old news to you, I would suggest checking this book out. I was very impressed with the information found in here.

Readers, one of you will be the winner of your own copy. This is brand new as the publisher sent me two copies. Get your entry in below.

This giveaway will end 4/26. Winner will be chosen through Random.org. They will have 48 hours to respond or another winner will be chosen.
USA ONLY!!!
I received a copy of this book for review purposes. I did not receive any monetary compensation. All thoughts are 100% mine.
