Flex Belt Review

Okay, I never really thought this would work. I mean, come on. A belt that makes your abs tighter, and toned? Well, the Flex Belt seems to have passed my test! I got this in for review and was pretty happy with the results. It has a neat way or working your abs and I found it quite interesting. Check out my thoughts below.

Here's how it works: The unique construction of the FLEX Belt features three pre-positioned, medical-grade GelPads, covering the central abdominal muscles and external obliques.
Signals from the ab belt reach out to nerves where they are most concentrated.
These nerves branch out to reach all the abdominal muscles (not just those under the pads) causing them to relax and contract naturally, working all the muscles at the same time.

So, I received my package and opened it right away. There were several things to look over, which I did before opening anything. There is a quick start guide and also a larger guide that I read over. Included in this kit is a belt, 3 GelPads, a controller, and a charger, all packed into one nice bag. The first time you use this, it needs charged for at least 3 hours. I plugged mine in right away and then left it charging overnight to use the next morning.

Putting this together you take the unit and attach it to the belt. Then you open the GelPads and attach these. They say the GelPads will last for about 30 uses for one person. I am the only one using this so it should last a while. I started this on a very low setting, the lowest possible, which is a 1. It goes up to an intensity of 150! I might slowly work up that high but not anytime soon. The GelPads were the hardest part and they were not that hard, just trying to make sure they were applied properly. You do have to make sure this is in the right position on your waist.

When I first started it I wasn't sure what I was going to experience. I know it said the feeling is somewhat different and should not hurt, but you never know with these things. I was actually surprised. It wasn't unpleasant but it wasn't the nicest either. It almost felt like something was moving on my waist. Once I had tried it for a few minutes it got better and I somewhat adjusted to the sensation. It also has a slight hum to it. The GelPads are cold at first as they are water based but it almost felt nice with how warm our weather has been.

I did my first session pretty short. After I was done and pulled it off, I felt like my stomach was aching. You know how your muscles get sore after an abs workout? That is what this felt like. There was also some redness on my skin but I checked the guide and it says this is something that happens on occasion. It went away within about 10 minutes so I wasn't worried about it.

I have now used this about two weeks for 4 days a week. It says you can use it daily but I try to do other exercises as well for my cardio and strengthening. Here is my thoughts on it. It does make me feel like my stomach is tighter. I think part of this is from having your abs tight while you use the belt, so then even afterwards I am tightening my tummy without thinking about it. Have I seen a major change? No, not yet. But again, I have only been using it around two weeks so I am guessing the change is slight right now. Should see a difference though within the next two weeks as I will have used it for a month at that point.

So, if you are looking for something that will help tighten your abs this is something you might want to look into. They are somewhat expensive but in the long run they may work an area of your body that is hard to tone. Again, it is something you will have to decide. I am not pushing this as a toner that will give you perfect abs in a month, but it is making me focus on my tummy a lot! Even when I don't have it on, I am sitting straighter, sucking my stomach in and tightening my abs. So I do appreciate the benefits I have received from it. Check out the Flex Belt website when you get a chance! Also watch the Flex Belt twitter page for deals and info.

According to FCC disclosure, I received a Flex Belt for review purposes. I did not receive any monetary compensation. All thoughts are 100% mine. Quotes taken from the Flex Belt website.
