Solar Generators and Power

Have you ever wondered what life would be like without electricity? I for one have often thought about it, especially with the way weather has been recently in other parts of the country. I don't think I would be able to handle it if we didn't have the air conditioner, stove, etc. I can't imagine what these people are going through who have been without electricity for weeks and it may well turn into a month. That is why I have looked into getting a portable solar generator. Have you seen one of these? Or maybe you own one? If you do, tell me about it below. Not only will one of these help for that time, but it is also one of those green items. Check out some of my tips for living green and maybe even going green when you travel:)

1.Use The Car Less.
If you are taking a long trip, or going around town, take the car as little as possible. When I first started walking around town I didn't think I would like it. But now I enjoy walking to the library, the post office, etc. This also works for going on a trip. Once you arrive, rent a bike, or maybe even take yours along! Biking is a great way to get around without putting polution in the air.

2.Use Paper To Recycle.
We use paper plates a lot to recycle. But especially while traveling we use plastic bottles we refill and then eventually recycle, after we have gotten our use out of them. But please, instead of just throwing the paper goods away, recycle! It is so much better for the environment. And water bottles are a great way to save. There are some really nice bottles out there nowadays and you can refill them as often as you need to.

3.Stay Green.
I have never personally tried one but I had someone recommend a bed and breakfast to me that is known for being green. They go out of their way to stay organic, homegrown, and green. This is an excellent way to travel and still be green and conservative. You never know what you will find and there are some cute little bed and breakfasts out there.

These are just some of my tips. If you ahve any others, please leave them below. Also, let me know if you have one of these generators and how they work.

This is a sponsored post for Goal Zero, however, all the points and views
are my own.
