For a child, every day is a thing of wonder. And for six-year-old Lily Lapp, every day is a new opportunity for blessings, laughter, family, and a touch of mischief. As she explores her world, goes to school, spends time with her family, and gets into a bit of trouble with her friends, Lily learns what it means to be Amish and what it means to grow up. From getting a new teacher to welcoming a new sibling, Lily's life is always full of adventure.
M'S REVIEW-This is a book I really enjoyed. I learned a lot about the Amish way of life. One thing I found interesting was how the children think the teacher is mean but she is only strict. Can't wait to read the next one in this series!
MY THOUGHTS-Now, as you can tell, this is her first review of sorts so she wasn't sure exactly what to put in. I do have to say, she is 11 and read through this book in a day! She loves to read and when I gave her this book, she snatched it up:) This book is the first in the Adventures of Lilly Lapp series and I think it is a cute book to give children. They say for ages 8-12 and I think the ages might be a bit young as an 8 year old could have problems reading this but it depends on the child. It reminds me of a Little House type book but the children will be learning a lot about the Amish family. Good book to give children and would make a great gift! M. has put it on her shelf:)
Available October 2012 at your favorite bookseller from Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group.
I received a copy of this book for my review purposes. I did not receive any monetary compensation. All thoughts are 100% mine.
