Music for The Year.

I am telling you, there is nothing this time of year like music. Whether it is shopping around the malls and stores, cooking at home, or even dancing in the house. Just kidding, about the dancing part I mean. We love our music and we like it lively but we also like it toned down and mellow. Some of us can play different instruments and some of us can't play at all:D I won't tell you who can't play anything other than the radio.

But in all honesty, musical instruments are a big part of our life. We enjoy playing and it is something we do to relax. Personally I play the violin, but I have always wanted to play the piano. I play the violin by ear but I don't think I could get that far on the piano. I can do some, but not the one hand. I have actually gone so far as to search for a good piano. We often browse classified ads and all over the internet. I found things I never knew were musical instruments but I have also fallen in love with some instruments. A Rebuilt Steinway would be at the top of my list. These are beautiful handcrafted pieces of art and they make such wonderful music. If I were to ever buy a piano, this would be my choice. Maybe when I have moved out and have the space:)

Medications.

How many of you take medications? I personally don't take any medicine on a regular basis, but for those of you looking to buy diazepam online, there is a website I found that has a lot of information about that. So, can you buy diazepam no rx? I didn't know you could purchase it without a prescription from the doctor, but it seems there are ways you can do it and it can be a big help.

I am sure some of you have no idea what diazepam is. I had heard of it but never really looked into the benefits of using it, remember, only from a professional use of course. Turns out this is a good medication to help calm the nervous system, which is what makes it good for people who have seizures. If you would like to find out more about diazepam, check out the links given.

I have not used this site. All thoughts are 100% mine.

Quick Sides with Minute Steamers! R&G

I am sure many of you are like us. Hectic with running around you don't feel like putting a lot into meals. That is where something like this comes in handy. Enter Minute Rice Steamers!! These are a great new product that I will definitely be purchasing in the future and I have a wonderful giveaway for one of my readers. This is something you will want to be using on those nights you don't have a lot of time to cook up a big meal.

Minute® Steamers *** contain rice that is fully cooked in a convenientself-ventilating bag which makes it easy to have perfectly cooked, moist rice all the time.  How easy?

Simply remove the bag from the freezer, place in your microwave and steam for 4 minutes. You don't have to add anything, spend a long time cooking or dirty a pan. During the steaming process, the special self-ventilating bag will inflate and then deflate when the bag is removed from the microwave.

I received three coupons for my review. Our local Walmart didn't carry a lot of them, so I got one of the Brown and Wild Rice and two of the Macaroni and Cheese. I was really hoping to try the Broccoli and Cheese but none of the stores here carried it. I will be getting it once I can find it nearby:)

The Brown and Wild Rice was my first try. I did all three of these as a side to our pork chops. With 8 in the family I figured we would need all of them:) I was surprised at how many in the family tried the brown rice. Normally when I just cook up rice, I do a little brown rice for those who like it and then white rice for the rest of the family. But 5 of them tried it!! I guess it looked that good.

I could tell from smelling it as it cooked that it would be good and boy was I right. The flavor in this was awesome! I loved the rich grainy taste and that wild rice really added to the brown rice.

Let me just tell you, the Mac and Cheese was the favorite by far, other than me, I liked the Brown and Wild Rice better. This macaroni and cheese is creamy, cheesy and delicious. What more can you ask for in mac and cheese! The children compared it to a much more expensive brand and said they liked this one better. I would be hard put to find a better one.

The thing I like most about these new steamers is the ease of using them. Pull the bag out of the freezer, stick it upright on a microwave safe plate and then heat it for 4 minutes. No waiting for the water to boil, no hoping it turns out okay, etc. Four minutes and you have a side. I was done in 15 minutes or less doing all three of them. Quick and easy you can use these anytime. I would be tempted to have this as a quick lunch for myself as well. Could be used anytime.

Readers, one of you will be receiving the sweet prize pack pictured above. This includes a coupon for a free product as well:) Whoever wins this will love it!

This giveaway will end 1/4. Winner will be chosen through Random.org and will have 48 hours to respond or another winner will be chosen.
According to FTC Disclosures, I received coupons for free product in exchange for my review. I did not receive any monetary compensation and all thoughts are 100% mine.

Mad Mimi and Email Marketing.

Well, next week I am probably going to be taking a lot of time off from my blog. With everything going on and being busy, you will not be seeing a lot of me. That is why I am doing a lot of posts this week:) And this morning I have one for you about email marketing, along with my sweet giveaway:) How many of you have heard of madmimi.com? I had personally never heard of it but now I am glad I found out about it. A business now a days cannot live without an email newsletter. There are certain things about email marketing that really help a business or company.

1.The Reach.
Many people will visit a website. But your email newsletter will go out to everyone on that list. There have been times I forgot about a small company until I got their newsletter. Or I read about a deal or hear about it and then forget about it until I receive their emails. This has happened more times than I can count! Believe me:) You can be reaching people all over the world by using email marketing. Whether it is for deals, specials or just updating your customers on a new product coming out, etc. This is a must for any company. Also bloggers, tell your readers about a new giveaway, a product you liked or something going on with your family.

2.The Opportunities
This is something I touched on above but the opportunity to send out your news to anybody interested is something that you can't get anywhere else, other than an email newsletter. Say you want to find out what product is a favorite of your customers? Use an email to send out a poll. Or maybe you want to tell your customers about a new flavor or toy that is releasing soon. There is no better way than through email marketing. Trust me, I said it above but I can't say it enough. People will visit your site, but they don't often do it. An email can be trashed, but they will see the subject and it will pique their interest.

Again, email marketing is such a blessing in todays society. You can't go wrong with it!!

Should a Business have a Facebook Page?

Okay, I have a question for my blog readers. How many of you know about businesses having Facebook pages? And do you think it is a good idea for a company to have a Facebook page? A Facebook page creation can be a wonderful thing but is it worth it? This is one I would love to hear from my readers on. I am going to give some pointers on why I think it is a great idea but chime in here! This will also apply to blog owners. So check it out:)

1.The Publicity and Reach.
Face it, social media is a big thing for businesses and companies today. It used to be word of mouth or talking to someone personally, but with the internet and all the changes it has brought, social media, such as Facebook and Twitter, really gives a business so much more reach. I don't know how many times I have searched for a restaurant or a shopping place and had to go to their Facebook page to get the details. You can check in online that you are at this place and all your friends will see this business.

2.Ease of Use.
Instead of going to the website of this business, you can do all your work from Facebook! I love how easy it is to login to my account and then check out a company nearby. Talk about nice:D Also, you can have several people who run it so all the updating and stuff it not put on one person. This makes it great for a small company.

3.Specials and Deals.
This is something I love about a Facebook page. Most of the companies I follow often post special deals for their Facebook fans. Sometimes they are something that will go out in an email message as well but there are times they are specials only available to their fans. Brands and companies cannot go wrong with having a page created on Facebook. Think of it this way. Instead of putting an ad in the local newspaper that your town sees, you are putting your company in front of thousands if not millions of people regularly!! They will see your specials, deals, announcements, etc. Believe me, I follow companies that I may never visit, but if I am in the area, I know they are there.

Readers, this is where I need your input. What do you think? Is it worth it? How many companies or brands do you follow on Facebook? Let me know in a comment below:)

This is a sponsored post however, all the points and views are my own.

A Vacation to Martha's Vineyard

I love this time of year. The weather outside is so beautiful, nice and chilly, the scents and smells of the season and cookies and bread baking in the oven. But one thing I miss during this time is a little vacation. I mean really, you don't often get free time or time away from family so you can really start feeling like you need a little trip:) One place I have always looked at and I thought would be nice is Martha's Vineyard in Cape Cod. I have gone through all the Marthas Vineyards hotels, restaurants, attractions and events, and I have definitely fallen in love with this quant town. Check out some of the beautiful reasons I found for taking a vacation trip to Martha's Vineyard!

1.The Scenery and Location.
Okay, really this place is soo beautiful. I am sure even right now with the weather it would be a sweet place to visit. I have talked to people who vacation there every year and they say the breeze coming off the water and the smell of that same water is breath taking. I can only imagine. I have been to several other destinations over in that area and they have all been wonderful but never been to Cape Cod or Martha's Vineyard. I am guessing with the holiday lights the scenery is just beautiful.

2.Hotels and Restaurants.
I have visited a lot of places. Traveled quite a bit and stayed in some nice hotels. But there is a laid back feel to this area and the bed and breakfasts look so nice. After looking at the pictures and checking out these sites, I feel like I would be right at home staying in one of these rooms. Of course, they would be sweet for a honeymoon or anniversary as well:) Hint hint guys!

3.The Attractions and Events.
Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard have plenty to keep your attention while you are in the area. I think one of the attractions I would enjoy is the whale watching tours. Ever seen a whale in its own habitat? I have only seen one at a zoo and I think it would be great to see one out there. They also have fun things for the kids to do but also things for the adults. Pick from hiking, biking, dinner cruises, or just plain hanging out on the beach.

Believe me, this is the place to vacation! A quaint laid back town that has a lot to do.

Keeping Your Plumbing Going.

Okay, an odd title I know. But with the winter season starting, keeping your plumbing going is a hard thing to do. And something you have to be very careful about. We are right in the path of this Winter Storm Draco and one thing we have to worry about is not allowing the pipes to freeze. We deal with this every year as I am sure many of my blog readers do. I do have to say, we have it better than those living in a travel trailer:) I am going to give some tips on how we keep our pipes good and warm. But, for those of you who do get frozen pipes, Roto-Rooter Plumbing is a great place to call if you get in trouble with your plumbing.

1.Keep the House Warm.
It may seem silly, but if you keep the house warm, this will help warm up your pipes. It doesn't work with all of them, believe me, our basement is always colder than the rest of the house, but it will help more than you realize. So instead of keeping it a little bit cooler, hit the heat on just a bit. Especially if you are going away for the weekend.

2.Use Insulation.
This is a must!! For those who get a good snow, or below zero weather, using insulation around the pipes is a way to make sure your pipes don't freeze. We do this with some of our pipes, especially if we know a bad storm is coming. I know it means crawling under the house or into the basement but it is better in the long run. Preventing frozen pipes is much better than having to deal with burst pipes or no water.

3.Leave Water Running.
This is something we do when the weather gets really bad. Overnight we will leave the water just trickling in the bathroom sinks and the kitchen sink. You have to make sure it is enough that it still won't freeze while going through the pipes, but not enough that your bill sky rockets because of the amount of water you were running. This is a last resort we use only when it is really cold.

Those of you who live in Canada or the really frozen areas might have some tips for us, so please leave them in a comment. I know it was a big change for us when we moved north after having lived down south for so long. We can all use the help:)

Buying Used Cars

Well, this is definitely near the end of the year. Things have been hectic and super busy. During all the stuff going on I have been doing some looking around for purchasing a new car. You know how it is with the new year. You have all these things you want to do and stuff you want to purchase. Well, a new car is on my list:) Whether you are buying used cars in your specific area or used cars in MA, there are tips that will help you in any state. I have listed some below that I have paid attention to in the past and I think they might be a help to those of you looking at buying a new vehicle. We all can learn from each other so leave a comment if you have a tip for me!!

1.Make A List.
I always go into a purchase or even searching, with a list in hand. Things I want and things I am willing to bargain on. Personally I like a truck, but I could go with something smaller. One thing I want is a four wheel drive. Do I have to have the snazzy look or the neat trim line? No, but I do have certain things I would like.

2.Take Your Time.
Don't rush into something without looking over things first. We had a friend recently buy a vehicle without taking it for a drive or checking it out. Turns out there are problems with the heat and air, there is a funny shimmy in the one tire and the lights sometimes go out for no reason at all. And guess what? The car dealership won't do a thing about it after it was paid for. A vehicle is not a small task. You often spend a lot on it and you don't want to have to put a lot more into it to keep it up.

3.Bargain with Cash.
I know this sounds crazy, but bargain and deal with the owner or dealership. Many times a dealership is asking more than the car is worth, so they will often come down to a better price, especially if you have cash.  They want to get rid of the car and you want one. So make sure it is the right one, and then bargain away:) Don't insult by asking a ridiculously low amount, but make sure you are paying a good price for the car.

So, keep these things in mind when you are looking at buying a new vehicle. I love to hear from my readers so leave a comment below!

Mama Mio Skin Tight Toning Serum Review

There are definitely some days where you feel like you need a little bit more to your daily beauty schedule. Especially during this time of the year when you are up late, running all over town and then you have to get up early. Believe me, I know how it is!! So I was kind of excited to review this latest product, Mama Mio Skin Tight Toning Serum. This is a product that will make you look great and feel great!

Mama Mio Skin Tight Toning Serum smoothes and retexturises uneven crepy skin - think juicy grape not wrinkly raisin. It takes facial peel technology and applies it to the body. Its four stage action of exfoliation, skin tightening and massively nourishing moisturisation will combat crepey, slack, tired skin - anywhere you need it. Tummies, saggy knees, bumpy backs of arms - even saggy faces - will all benefit from a little lift, tighten and tone; the three sweetest words a girl can hear.

Now I have to tell you, I have not had the time to review this product to my full desire. I like to have around two weeks to try out a beauty product like this. But, in the time I have been using it, I am very happy and can't wait to see how it works after two or three weeks! The Skin Tight Toning Serum comes in a bottle that you push the top and enough will come out to use on one spot, depending on how big an area you want to do. I mainly used this on my face and upper arm area. I was expecting more of like a lotion feel to this but it actually feels more like water. I thought it would leave my skin feeling oily but it left me feeling like there was nothing there. I knew I had put it on but it wasn't an oily residue. I also like the smell of this. Kind of sweet but not too strong.

So, does it really work? I think it does. I have been using it about a week, but I could tell a difference within a couple days. I like how it makes my skin feel tighter and not as flabby. And believe me, I am not one to just give my approval of something. If I don't like it, you will know about it:) I have enjoyed using it and will be using it for several more weeks. Should last quite a while with the amount you get.

If you are looking for some different beauty items or products that might make a great gift, Mama Mio has plenty. These are things you probably wouldn't find normally in a store. They range from facial care to skin care. And there are some different ones in there:) Anyways, keep up with them on Facebook and through their blog. You never know if they will run a special or have a coupon!

Michael Angelo's Review and Giveaway!

Hey everyone! This past week has been super busy, and I can't imagine things slowing down at all for a little bit. It is during these times that the review for today comes in very handy. Michael Angelo's is a company that makes frozen dinners like momma makes them. We are talking top of the list italian dinners that taste delicious! And so very easy to make. Read below for my thoughts and a giveaway!

For my review I was sent four coupons. Now I only used three so I could have one for a giveaway. And believe me, this is well worth it. I used my coupons to review the Eggplant Parmesan and the Meat Lasagna. I was somewhat skeptical that these would taste homemade. I have tried a lot of frozen dinners that look really good from the box but they just don't taste that great. So I was excited to try these. The one night we were running really late getting back home so I called back and had them preheat the oven in advance. I figured this would be a great night to try the new dinners out. We got back, popped them in the oven and did some other stuff while we waited for them to cook. Now one thing I like about the dinners is, they have a plastic film over the top. Normally with a frozen meal you take this off, or at least peel it back some. Not with this!! You leave the plastic on which really keeps the flavor and food tasting good.

Anyways, once the meals were done I pulled them out and took pictures. They say these will feed 4 people each. And feeding a family of 8 I wanted to make sure, thus the need to cook up all three of them. Plus I knew only some in the family would eat the Eggplant Parmesan. I was sooo looking forward to digging into that one:) The food was done and I served it up and waited anxiously to see what everyone would say. They LOVED it!! Not only did I get requests for seconds but a couple even tried the Eggplant Parmesan because they thought it might taste different than the other ones they had tried. It was definitely a hit.

Now the products from Michael Angelo's are great for late dinners, a night on the go, etc. Maybe one of the kids has practice and you can't get back in enough time to make a big meal? Throw in a Michael Angelo's frozen dinner and it will taste homemade. And with this time of year, everyone is running somewhere to buy gifts or help someone out. This is the perfect time to pop in one of these delicious meals! I am telling you, the flavor is great and there is plenty to go around. We had a whole meal left after we got done. So definitely worth the price.

Readers, I have one coupon good for a free Michael Angelo's product. Expires 5/31/13 so good through a lot of next year. US only as I will be mailing. This giveaway will end 12/31/12 Winner will be chosen through Random.org and will have 48 hours to respond or another winner will be chosen.

Homes in Beverly Hills

Do any of my blog readers happen to live in California? If any of you do, what about Beverly Hills? I have never been to California but it is a place I would enjoy seeing, just to say I have been there. And for those of you who live there, or who might be looking at moving across the country, I found a website that has beverly hills homes for sale. I have moved often in my lifetime and I can't say that Beverly Hills would be my first choice, but it sure does look lovely! Southern California is a beautiful place. Check out the area and see if they just might have something for you:)

For those of you looking at moving, there are some things to keep in mind. We have been looking at purchasing a new house and let me tell you, there are a lot of things to stay focused on and be strict with. Certain things you have to have leeway on and others make for a no compromise situation. One thing we have been pretty set on is property. It must have a certain amount of acreage. Not only for the children to have room to play but also for the animals. We have dogs and they have to have the room to run and all. In this area we have a certain amount of property we want, but anything over and above that is an extra. Yes we want property, but it doesn't have to be a lot.

In our search for just the right house, we have run into a lot of different scenarios and situations. One person is selling their home at an overrated price but they don't want to bargain at all. While the next person only wants to do business through a realtor. Purchasing a new home is a big decision. So make sure you get what you are looking for. If something feels off, or you and your spouse can't agree on something, take the time to pray over it and make the right decision. Normally there is a reason for that feeling, so don't rush into buying a house just because you have the money and need a home. Think things through and get what you want. But on the other hand, don't be too strict and lose a house that would be perfect:)

Getting Ready for School?

I am very amazed at how fast time has flown by. It seems like just yesterday we were at the middle of the year and we were looking forward to fall. And now? The end of the year is coming fast and that means guess what? A new school semester is what happens for many in January. Believe me, not exciting for some of us but for students this time of year is all about planning and getting ready, like buying textbooks, etc. But, have you ever thought about renting textbooks instead of buying them?  Campus Book Rentals is a place I found that has excellent options for renting your books.

I have looked into books about music theory and how to read music as that is something I would like to learn someday. I can play a little bit and I enjoy the violin but I would like to be able to read music. So I checked out books on this subject through Campus Book Rentals. It is very easy!! Just type in a word into the search box and browse away! I typed in music and got several pages in results. One book that caught my eye was The Complete Idiot's Guide to Music Theory, 2nd Edition. And this book is available:)

Some of the perks include free shipping both ways and 30 day risk free returns. You can even highlight and mark in the books like they were your own! This is a trusted source that offers you ways to either rent a book or get rid of the ones you don't need anymore. I am also impressed at how every textbook rented from their site gets a donation sent to Operation Smile. This organization saves lives every day and renting a textbook can help a child. So if you are one of those getting ready for the semester this coming January, check out Campus Book Rentals. You can't go wrong with this company!

Anita Higman with Where God Finds You Review & Giveaway!

How many of you read a devotional every day? I wasn't really doing that until just recently I started reading one with my Bible devotions in the morning. I kind of like the idea of getting something to read and it gives you a little idea or new aspect to think about and ponder through your day. There are ones that cater to different readers and this new one I received for review is entitled, Where God Finds You. This one is 40 devotions that help to bring Biblical characters to life. It could be read by anybody and I found it to be quite interesting. Read on for my thoughts and don't forget the giveaway!

A Devotional Book with Biblical Fiction
Standard Publishing
40 Devotions Bringing Bible Characters to Life
In forty devotional tales, Where God Finds You breathes new life into ancient Bible characters. Live with and learn about more than forty Bible men and women, including the wife of Pontius Pilate, Esther, John the Baptist, Delilah, Lazarus, and Mary Magdalene.

Through reflection on Scripture and prayer, you’ll discover a place in each of these lives of vulnerability, tenderness, truth, and love—a place where you can find God . . . and where God finds you.

Where God Finds You is unique among women’s devotional books in that it brings dozens of men and women of the Bible to life through dramatic short stories, connects biblical truths to today’s culture, and offers readers an opportunity to reflect on what they’ve learned. Each devotion features:

• A dramatic retelling of Scripture that allows the reader to crawl into the pages of the Bible.
• The Story from God's Word: a quote or paraphrase of the applicable Bible passage in a reader-friendly version.
• The Story—From Then to Now: a personal reflection from the author to help link the passage to life today.
• The Story—Questions to Think About: prompts for personal reflection or group discussion that lead to practical application.
September 2012

Anita Higman is an author who I have previously enjoyed but I had only read her fiction books. Well, this book has brought me to a new respect for this lady. I have only had this book for about a week and I have thoroughly enjoyed reading and getting to know more about Biblical characters. No, she doesn't bring up things that aren't true, but as you read and reflect on one person for a couple days, you get a new look at them. I have seen it before with a fiction book based on a Bible character and I felt that way with this devotional.

Out of the ones I have read, I have an absolute favorite. The first one is about the woman who was healed when she touched Jesus' cloak. When you really think about all this woman had gone through and how she must have felt, to just touch his robe and be healed? What a miracle!! Just imagine it was you who had been sick and diseased all your life. And then you get the chance to see a healer and all the people crowding around and you just barely touch his robe. And then the miracle of Him turning to ask who had touched Him. Absolutely amazing.

For those of you who want to connect with the Bible in a great way, this is an excellent help to doing that. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading it and will continue to do so next year.

Readers, I was sent an extra copy of this book to giveaway to one person. Will be a help to any one who loves to read the Bible. This giveaway will end 12/24. Winner will be chosen through Random.org and will have 48 hours to respond or another winner will be chosen.

I received a copy of this book for my review purposes. I did not receive any monetary compensation. all thoughts are 100% mine.
