The Lesson is number three in the Stoney Ridge Seasons and is about one of my favorite characters. Mary Kate is the younger sister of Julia, who is from a book I reviewed earlier this year. One reason I like MK so much is her impulsiveness and her freshness. I realize at first she is childish with her attitude but she is young and by the end of the book, she has matured so much! Throughout this whole series there has been a secret that you never found out what it was. Everything is wrapped up in here so nicely but yet with a lot of emotion. This family has gone through so much but their spirit is what I found refreshing. As Fern tells Amos at one point, "Coincidence after coincidence after coincidence. A sure sign of God's silent sovereignty. I don't think He wants you to get past this. I think He wants you to get through it." If we would only take this to heart. God has everything in control and He knows what is best. Maybe it is His plan that we go through something, not just get past it. So, overall a great book. Again, this is going on my shelf with The Keeper and The Haven. I thoroughly enjoyed this series!!!
