Filter Your Language! TVGuardian Review.

I recently received what is known as the TVGuardian. This is a very nifty device that for a family like ours is something we can't live without. I am sure you are wondering what I am talking about so let me give you a little bit of info about it and then I will tell you how we liked it.

TVGuardian automatically mutes foul language while watching TV Shows and Movies, including
channels like HBO, Starz, Showtime, Epix, Pay-Per-View, Video-on-Demand, and most DVDs.

When it first came in I was somewhat hesitant over how to hook it up and if it would work properly. We have one of the older models that is actually a dvd player that hooks into your television. This new model, the TVG LT, is a little box that you can hook up to your player and then to your tv. I have to admit, I had a friend hook this up as I am not tech savvy at all. You have little eyes that go over your receiver on your monitor and then a couple tests you do to make sure it is hooked up right. It was very quick to set up and so long as it worked correctly, we were going to love this:)

Basically the whole concept of this is it works through closed captioning and bleeps out the swear words. And there are different levels you can choose, so maybe you want to allow certain things but not others. Strict is what we put ours on. Of course, with anything Christian, we had to unhook it as it would bleep out prayers, talking about God, etc:) As far as actual service, I think it will work out well. We had a problem with one movie that it was lagging and one word came through and then it muted it. But most of the other things seem to work. There has been an occasional movie that it hasn't worked on either. Mainly seems to be the older shows.

Overall I am very pleased with this guardian. It allows us to watch a couple things that we wouldn't ordinarily view because of a few foul words. And I am telling you, this would make a perfect gift for a family who wants to keep the shows clean and mute the bad language. Check out the video below and then take a trip to their store at the links given.
