Let It Snow Hallmark Christmas Movie!! Airing This Evening.

Hey everyone, just wanted to give a heads up on a new Hallmark movie airing this evening. Let It Snow looks to be a fun family christmas film. I will be previewing it on Sunday or Monday evening and I will post my review on here to let you all know about it but I wanted to let you know in time to catch it on Hallmark. Airs tonight at 8 PM ET or 7 Central. It looks really good:) I have always loved Christmas movies and the fun spirit of them but this one also has an appeal because of Candace Cameron Bure. Catch that name in there? Yep, she happens to be Kirk Cameron's younger sister! But I do like her in her own right as well, not just because of her brother:D

When a resort executive is sent to a newly purchased lodge in Maine with instructions to turn it in to an ultra-modern resort, she finds a charming, successful lodge loaded with holiday spirit and makes a connection with the owner's handsome son. Will she stick with her boss/father’s plans to tear everything down or find a way to save what she has come to love? Stars Candace Cameron-Bure, Alan Thicke and Jesse Hutch.

Check it out on Hallmark tonight!!

HGG Carmex Limited Edition Moisture Plus Collection Review and #Giveaway!

Well, I pray you all had a blessed Thanksgiving yesterday. I always love this time of year and being able to set apart a day just for being thankful. Not that we shouldn't do that year round, but it makes it kinda special. And for those of you who worry about your beauty this time of year, I have a product here for you all to be thankful for. Carmex is one of my favorite products to fight dry, chapped lips and I know you all will like it. Especially when there is a giveaway for one of my readers to win:)

I have been a fan of Carmex ever since I started using their products. Not only do they carry the lotion for which they are well known, but also lip products. And I am talking tinted lip gloss, lip balms, etc. You gotta love their stuff! My personal favorite is the Lip Conditioner. It is the best!! But this time around I was sent the four piece Moisture Plus Collection. This is limited edition and I just love how they have worked this one:) You have to take the Uniquely You Personality Quiz to find out your style . They are all the same stick and work just as well, but they each have a different label and design.

My favorite design is the Chic. I would probably be more the whimsical style but I like the color of the chic best. They are all well designed and I love how you can use one for a different event or maybe one for your regular use and then one for special things.

As you can see, they have many uses and it will be great for your purse, to keep in the vehicle, your bedroom, etc. And one of you will win the four set!! This is US only and will end on 12/16. Winner will have 48 hours to respond or another winner will be chosen.

CleanSmart Hand Sanitizer Gel and Spray #Review & #Giveaway!! #cleansmart #coldandfluseason

Hey friends and loyal readers! This is one of the most wonderful times of the year but it is also the season for sickness. And that is where this next company comes into play. CleanSmart is a different type of hand sanitizer. This comes in gel form or a spray. Needless to say, I will be using this often in the coming months:)

There really aren't many people who want to get sick. I mean come on, who wants to have the flu during the holiday season? Definitely not me. So I normally carry hand sanitizer in my purse and I use it every chance I can get. Whether it is shaking someone's hand, shutting a door, using a shopping cart, etc. we all have the ability to catch the flu through germs. And that is why I fight it every time I can. So CleanSmart is something I have carried around with me to use as I go through my day. I personally like the gel best. It seems to work better in my opinion but only because I like to actually scrub it on my hands, not just spray it on.

Now one of the best things I can say about this sanitizer is that it is alcohol free, filled with natural ingredients and perfectly safe to use with children. Which is important now-a-days. With all the chemicals that are added to everyday products, we can't be too careful. So this is a big asset to me.

Is anyone interested in trying out CleanSmart Hand Sanitizer for themselves? One winner will receive a set of the CleanSmart Gel and Spray. I will be shipping this out so US only!!

CFBA Tour For Aloha Rose #Book #Review!

This week, the

Christian Fiction Blog Alliance

is introducing

Aloha Rose

Abingdon Press (November 19, 2013)

by

Lisa Carter

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

A word from the author:

I am a wife and mother. My husband and I have two daughters and make our home in the beautiful state of North Carolina.

I am a teacher. With a Master’s degree in history, I have taught at the university, high school and middle school levels. After years of church involvement as a soloist, choir member and worship leader, I also teach music.

I am a writer. Delighted by the rhythm and musicality of words, I have been writing since childhood. In 2001, I won the Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) Story Writing Contest that re-ignited a lifelong love of writing.

I am on a journey of faith. My ultimate desire through my life and my writing is to proclaim the truth of God’s Word, His redeeming love as seen in the life of Jesus Christ and to help others know for themselves this great, awesome God of all comfort and wisdom. He is enough for every need.

ABOUT THE BOOK

When Laney Carrigan sets out to find her birth family, her only clue is the Hawaiian quilt—a red rose snowflake appliquéd on a white background—in which she was found wrapped as an infant. Centering her search on the Big Island and battling fears of rejection, Laney begins a painstaking journey toward her true heritage. Kai Barnes, however, is determined to protect the people he’s come to regard as family. He thinks Laney is nothing more than a gold digger and blocks every move she makes toward her Hawaiian family. As their conflict escalates, it puts at risk the one thing that Kai and Laney both want most—a family.

If you would like to read the first chapter of Aloha Rose, go HERE.

MY REVIEW-I wasn't too sure how I would like this book with the whole Hawaiian take and the quilt. They just didn't seem to really go together with the rest of the series. But I have to admit, I quickly grew fond of the characters and couldn't wait to finish the story! Laney is a wonderful heroine that is going through a lot but she is strong underneath it all. And Kai is kinda cute. Okay, not the normal word you use in conjunction with a hero, but he is. You might not think so when you first meet him, but once you get to know him, everything falls into place. He is just being protective. And when the two of them get together, boy do the sparks fly!! I totally fell in love with this one and enjoyed it all the way to the end.

A MARRIAGE IN MIDDLEBURY | ENTER Anita Higman’s Double Kindle Fire Giveaway & RSVP for “Tea for Two” 12/12 Facebook Party!

One decision changed both their lives . . . but will love win in the end? Charlotte Rose Hill enjoys a comfortable life serving up country delicacies, uniquely blended teas, and matchmaking advice for her quirky, devoted customers. The only thing lacking is someone to share it with. At eighteen she denied Sam Wilder’s marriage proposal after his family convinced her to walk away from their relationship. They both moved on . . . or so she thought. When Sam walks back into her life more than a decade later, Charlotte is surprised that her heart still quickens. But is it because of his presence? Or because of the presence of Sam’s new fiancée? A second chance at love doesn’t happen often, but their past may keep them apart. Is it too late for Sam and Charlotte?

MY THOUGHTS-I hadn't really read a whole lot by author Anita Higman, but I read her last release and loved it so when this one popped up for review, I jumped at the chance:) And I am so glad I did!! Anita brings characters to life and you feel like you know them. Charlotte's tea shoppe is so quaint I wish it was around here. I could use Charlotte's wisdom and warm custom blends of tea every once in a while:) Sam was a little bit harder to like. He is kind and loving but then some things go over his head. Like bringing his fiancee back to town. And don't get me started on his father. What a jerk! The minister was very sweet and I liked his attitude and helpful spirit. Overall a wonderful story with a lot of lessons to learn. Can't wait to see what Anita has for her readers next.

THE CONTEST DETAILS BELOW!
Anita Higman is celebrating the release of her latest book, A Marriage in Middlebury, with a double Kindle Fire giveaway (one for you & one to give away!) and a "Tea for Two" Facebook Author Chat Party on December 12th.

Strait of Hormuz #Book #Review. Excellent Finale by Davis Bunn!!

The threat of an Iranian blockade of the narrow Strait of Hormuz is escalating global tensions. Sanctions against Tehran have begun to bite, and it seeks to retaliate by cutting off vital shipping routes for crude oil. The specter of a preemptive Israeli strike has US officials on edge as they struggle to keep the world from plunging into the abyss.

Stymied in its efforts to uncover the sources of funding that bolster the Iranian nuclear program, the State Department calls on Marc Royce to investigate. With little to go on, he'll have to rely on an old ally. Kitra Korban has ties to people with the means to get things done, so long as no questions are asked.

But Iran is on the brink of nuclear capability, and time is running out.

MY THOUGHTS-I have personally loved Davis Bunn's books for the longest time. He writes with a good flair and it really pulls you into the story. And let me tell you, Strait of Hormuz was no different. This is the third and final book in the Marc Royce Adventures and boy was it a good one! You get to meet up with a bunch of old friends and see how things turn out. I even had a couple surprises in here;)

One of my favorite aspects with a book by Davis Bunn is how he mixes Christianity in a novel without making it offensive. The main character is a christian, but he isn't pushy about it. They have real life struggles(okay, Marc is a little above the ordinary but that makes him pretty good in my book), personal battles and you see how they work through them. I also felt like I learned history and geography as Davis Bunn throws in so much detail you are immersed in the story. Only problem with the book? It makes it very hard for ordinary men to measure up to Marc!! He is such a great hero. Strong and yet humble. Okay, he ends up that way, but you know what I mean. Wonderful guy all around:) Great book with a definite 5 stars. Can't wait to see what is next for your readers, Mr Bunn!!

Dear Mr. Knightley by Katherine Reay | Favorite Austen Moments KINDLE HDX Giveaway, Pinterest Contest and Facebook Party!

DEAR MR. KNIGHTLEY

Samantha Moore has always hidden behind the words of others—namely her favorite characters in literature. Now, she will learn to write her own story—by giving that story to a complete stranger.
Growing up orphaned and alone, Sam found her best friends in the works of Austen, Dickens, and the Brontë sisters. The problem is that she now relates to others more comfortably as Elizabeth Bennet and Jane Eyre than as herself.
Sometimes we lose ourselves in the things we care about most.
But life for this twenty-three-year-old is about to get stranger than fiction, when an anonymous benefactor (calling himself “Mr. Knightley”) offers to put Sam through the prestigious Medill School of Journalism. There is only one catch: Sam must write frequent letters to the mysterious donor, detailing her progress.
As Sam’s program and peers force her to confront her past, she finds safety in her increasingly personal letters to Mr. Knightley. And when Sam meets eligible, best-selling novelist Alex Powell, those letters unfold a story of love and literature that feels as if it’s pulled from her favorite books. But when secrets come to light, Sam is – once again – made painfully aware of how easily trust can be broken.
Reay’s debut novel follows one young woman’s journey as she sheds her protective persona and embraces the person she was meant to become.

MY REVIEW-WOW!! I was really not sure how much I would like this book as I don't really go for the victorian, Jane Austen style books. But I thought the plot sounded interesting and figured I would try it. I mean, who can resist a book that is all written through letters to an anonymous stranger? I couldn't and once I started, I was so glad I had reviewed it. You will be brought on highs and lows as you laugh and then cry. I was totally swept up in this book:)

The writing style is unique but I loved it. You meet all the characters through the letters of Samantha, or Sam as she likes to be called. And she is writing to someone she has never met and never plans on meeting. He paid for her grant to school but the clause is that she has to write him letters. You get to see through these missives that she had a very hard life growing up as a foster child, her fears and regrets, and even some romance as she gets a boyfriend and loses him. You also slowly fall in love with some of the secondary people including Kyle, Ashley, Debbie, and even Coach Riddley. I had too many characters to like so I can't even start with a favorite. But my favoriteS were Sam, Alex and the Muirs. I just loved the whole book! I would urge you to pick this one up and read it, even if you don't like Jane Austen quotes. Yes, they are in there but I fell in love with way more than that. Excellent book and I can't wait to read the next novel by Katherine Reay! Way to go!!

Make The Holidays A Treat with Treat Cards! Flash #Giveaway for Mug and Stationary!

Have you all started on your holiday shopping yet? How about shopping for cards? We have started shopping around for gifts and cards as the season will be upon us before we know it. And one place I always browse for my cards is Treat. This is a company that is somewhat new but their fellow brands are ones I am quite familiar with and enjoy. Maybe you all know them as well? Tiny Prints and Shutterfly!! Love shopping these brands. And I enjoy Treat as well but they are a different type of store. They are all about stationary and cards. Of course, they also have some new stuff, like photo gifts!! Check out the video below about the new digital cards and then enter the giveaway.

Their Card collection is quite good. You have many choices to select from and the club is kinda different. If you have never shopped through their site before, you pay for the card or you can pay for a lot of cards at one time and then use them when you need them. So if you have a birthday coming up and you need a card, you can join the club and then personalize each card. Order as many or as little as you want.

Personally, I love an item that has been customized and made just for you. It shows a lot of thought and it makes it special to me. And Treat has a lot of really cute things that can be customized. You can put your own style into the cards, use their phrases or make your own, and then add the pictures. I have gotten some before and really liked them.

And don't forget about their digital cards! I love this option. Now you don't have to worry about the hassle of filling out envelopes and sending one to everybody.

So, anyone interested in a flash giveaway? The winner will receive one mug and one set of personal stationary. This is US only!! Giveaway will end 11/21. Winner will be chosen through Random.org and will have 48 hours to get their info to me. I have to send in my winner's info on the 23rd so this is a quick turnaround.

Coming Home for Christmas DVD #Review & #Giveaway!

Everyone loves a good Christmas movie. They are heartwarming, all about family and even include snow and winter cheer:) So I was excited to review the new film, Coming Home for Christmas. This is a Norman Rockwell movie and is all about, Home is Where the Heart Is. The plot sounded sweet and I couldn't wait to try it out.

About COMING HOME FOR CHRISTMAS
After their parents separate, two estranged sisters who haven't been on speaking terms reunite in hopes that having a family Christmas all together for the first time in years will bring their Mom and Dad close again. They plan to do this in their old family home... the only problem is someone else lives there now.
The DVD includes a limited edition Norman Rockwell print!
Who is Norman Rockwell?  Rockwell was famous for his famous American culture illustrations and artwork. He was born in the late 1800’s and died in the mid 1900’s.

Director: Vanessa Parise
Cast: George Canyon (Christmas Miracle, Dawn Rider, Man of Steel), Aaron Pritchett, Britt McKillip (Dead Like Me), Carly McKillip (Hot Rod)
$14.99
Available at Walmart
Soundtrack also available featuring holiday songs performed by George Canyon

Needless to say, I am glad I previewed it before the whole family watched it. The movie is full of quirky characters and I loved how Kate narrates parts of it. And the "part son, part business partner" of Mike's was quite amusing. There were several parts I laughed out loud and it was quite entertaining. But there were a couple things that bothered me. One was Kate's boss who is a male with earrings. Sorry, but just not good in my book. And the other thing that irked me was the dress by several of the female characters. I understand not everyone dresses the same way, but I felt like her skirts were very short. Almost to the point of being indecent. Definitely not something you want teenage boys watching. Like I said, I know this doesn't claim to be Christian, it is more of a family friendly film, but still it was a bit much for me. I also found myself greatly disliking the mother as she was nit-picky and immature.

So, if you still want a chance to view the film, please don't go by my preferences on this, enter the giveaway below. You may get the movie and love it, but I have to be honest in my review. If you enjoy quirky people and heartwarming stories, this might be one for you.

The giveaway will end 12/2. Winner will be chosen through Random.org and will have 48 hours to respond or another winner will be chosen. US ONLY!!

Sinful Colors Nail Polish Review

Don't you just love the fall air? I know we are headed to winter and it will be getting cold out, along with the dreaded snow, but I personally love it outside! And with the weather outside, I want my nails to reflect that. We always pull out our lovely reds and fallish looking colors right about now. Am I right? Well, today I have a review for you from Sinful Colors Nail Polish. I am sure you remember the times in the past when I reviewed them so you all know how much I love them. And, I was sent four colors to review, of which I will be pulling two to the side to host a giveaway during my holiday gift guide. So, read on and find out which one I liked best!

The new releases are part of two series. The Leather Luxe and the Crystal Crushes. I personally like the Crystal Crushes best and so I will review that one first. This color is the Ruby Mine. And yes, it has glitter in it:) The color is very nice and I love how it flashes in the light! It would be great for Christmas and has that special flair to it. Now, only problem with glitter nail polish? It is sooo hard to get off! The glitter leaves almost a sandpaper feel on your nails and then trying to get it off can take a while. I did eventually get it off but I have to tell you, I left it on there for a bit. So that might have been the problem. Needless to say, this color just pops and I loved it. Will be pulling it out again in time for the holidays and showing it off.

The other color I received was Laced Up. This one looked very nice in the bottle but not so nice outside the bottle. My family felt the same way. It almost came out looking peach and then other times it looked orange. I was expecting something a bit more red. Kinda dull looking for Sinful Colors. I definitely liked the other one better. This one might be good for a certain color of clothing.

So, by far Crystal Crushes is my favorite. The other colors in this series looks good too. And make sure to be watching for my giveaway next month during my Holiday Gift Guide.
Also check out Sinful Colors on all their social media sites!!

Love My New Debit Card!! #FunCARD @CARD

  • “I wrote this review as a part of a Blog Friendly PR outreach campaign for CARD.com, I was compensated for me time but all opinions are my own.

Hey everyone!! I don't believe the month has flown by so fast. Seems like it was just yesterday that November started and now we are halfway through the month. And don't even get me started on the weather. I can't believe we are almost to winter! Yes, we have had snow and all that lovely stuff already:) But it kinda gets you in the mood for holiday shopping and gift giving. But that also means more money being spent and soo many ways to purchase items. And that is why I want to introduce you to a company that I have really enjoyed working with. Not only did I get to review one of their designs, but I also got some free money:) And we all love that, right? So get ready to meet, Card.com.

Now I know most of you are just thinking this is another one of those gift card places, right? We see them all over the internet and there really isn't that much different about this one. But, that is where you would be wrong. You see, Card.com is not just another gift card. This is in actuality, a debit card. Yep, you heard me right. This is just like the card you get and use from your bank. Is that sweet or what!! You have a pin with it to use as a debit, you can have any design from their website(and boy do they have some nice ones!), AND you can connect it to your bank or Paypal account to put cash on it. One of the main things I like is that there are no overdraft fees. Almost all the features are free to use and there is also a free app you can use to check balances, etc. I personally like the ability to get my own design and I chose the Chicago Skyline. I love visiting Chicago and the design came out perfectly. It is very easy to setup an account, choose your pin and get started. If you are looking for a new way to purchase things, this is my pick. Loved working with Card.com!!

Make sure to visit Card.com and let me know your favorite design. They definitely have plenty to choose from. Also stop by their social pages and hit follow. You will be glad you did!

The Best Way to Hire an Air Conditioning Specialist

Keeping your air conditioning system working properly can prevent expensive repairs. Installing a new central air conditioner can often cost upwards of $10,000 based on the size of the unit and your home’s needs. Hiring a Texas air conditioning specialist to service your system can save you a lot of money and stress. Here are some tips to help you find a qualified company to work on your home.

Requirements

Find out what the requirements are for air conditioning companies. What licensing and insurance needs are required to run a legitimate business in Texas? When you know about the requirements, it can make it a little easier to weed out the bad companies from the good ones.

Referrals

To create a list of companies you plan to work with, ask your friends and others for referrals. Referrals give you a good idea about the work history of the company, and what they are capable of doing. It is important to ask others about the time frame it took the company to complete the work, and if they felt satisfied with their work. Ask them about the total costs, and if they felt the company cut any corners with the work they performed. If another contractor provided you with their company information, discuss their experience with the HVAC provider. Have they felt the company provides high-quality service to their customers?

Cost

Discuss the cost of the air conditioning services with the company. Having an air conditioner replaced is not a cheap installation. It is important to understand how much it will cost you, so you can be prepared for expensive costs. Minor repair jobs may only run a few hundred dollars. The company will usually need to come to your home and determine the problems before they can give you an estimate. Compare multiple estimates before you make your decision on which company to hire. This is particularly important if you need to have the air conditioner replaced. Look for the company that provides warranty services, and other options to help protect you from expensive repairs in the future. It is important to discuss how long it will take the Texas air conditioning specialist to work on your home, as you could end up sweating for days in the heat if they don’t hurry and schedule your job.

Making Dinner Easy with Old El Paso #Giveaway #MyBlogSpark!

How many times a week do you cook a meal at home? I know in our family, we are normally at home and only eat out maybe once a week. But I also know that people with the daily rush of life often have little time to cook at home and make a big meal. That is where Old El Paso steps in to help. The new frozen entrees will aid in your goal of having a dinner at home with little time. I was sent a pack that included a VIP coupon for a free product and a chip dip tray. Oh, and also a $10 visa gift card to get my extras:) And yes, there is a giveaway for the same pack I received.

For my frozen entree, I got the Chicken Enchilada's. This says it will serve 2. I think it might actually be more by the time everybody eats. We also served refried beans, chips, salsa, qeuso, and bean dip. So we all ate some but there was a little left over. So if you are feeding a large amount of people, you will definitely need more. As to the food itself, I really liked it. You cook this in the oven, not like most frozen meals where you throw them in the microwave. I think it made it more like a homemade meal. It cooked quickly and came out steaming. As you can see from the pictures, it was delicious! I loved the taste and the red sauce.

The chip tray is very nice looking and I will be using this a lot in the future. It could be for chips and dip but it could also be used for a veggie tray, or just about anything else you can think of with dips. I used it with chips, queso, salsa, and bean dip. Looks lovely as you can tell:)

Readers, there will be one winner walking away with the same prize pack I received. I know you will love the tray and once you try the food, you will enjoy it. This giveaway will end 11/28. Winner will be chosen through Random.org and will have 48 hours to respond or another winner will be chosen. US ONLY!!

Disclosure: The information and prize pack have been provided by General Mills through MyBlogSpark.
