A Year With Six Sisters' Stuff Review and 10 Book #Giveaway!

Do you all remember the review I did last year of the Six Sisters' Stuff cookbook. If you don't, please go back and take a look as I literally fell in love with it. Not only is it a cookbook but it is also jam packed with tips and hints as you shop for your family. So when I was offered the chance to review the new one, A Year With Six Sisters' Stuff, I jumped at it!! This is full of menu ideas for all year, delicious recipes and ideas on how to bring the family together for meals.

I was able to use several recipes in the time I reviewed this. But believe me, I will be trying out many more as there are so many that look great. On family night we made these little casserole muffins and I decided to do the Slow Cooker Roasted Vegetables.

This makes sure that the children get in the veggies they need and I was hoping they would eat more. Directions are easy to follow and for this recipe, it was very quick. Basically throw it all in the crock pot and let it simmer for several hours. Their recipe called for carrots, potatoes onion and zucchini. I also added some peppers and broccoli. This literally simmered in the crock pot for quite a while.

I started it in the morning and let it cook all day. I think they turned out pretty good but I think next time I will hold out on the zucchini and squash until an hour or so before the meal. They were very tender, almost falling apart. But otherwise, it turned out great!! The kids liked the different veggies and the italian seasoning made it taste good.

Now I also made two other recipes from this book. For dinner Saturday night I was cooking up ribs in the slow cooker and decided to make the Cheesy Ranch Potatoes and the Slow Cooker Baked Beans as sides. I had one minor problem though, since I was cooking the ribs in the crock pot I had to do the beans on the stove. But I did them just like I was making them in the slow cooker and let them simmer on the stove for hours.

Here is the funny thing. I made the ribs, the cheesy ranch potatoes and the baked beans. After dinner a vote was taken and the favorite part of the meal was the cheesy potatoes!! These turned out super and next time I will have to double the recipe.

We had a guest for dinner that night and with everything the potatoes were gone, no more, vanished! They were eaten very quickly. And even the beans were enjoyed. One of the males in the family asked what brand they were as they tasted so good. Imagine the surprise when I said they were a generic brand:) Just had some extras thrown in and voila! Simmered all day to taste like something from a BBQ restaurant.

So, interested in purchasing this book for yourself? I plan on using it all the time and I love the way you can separate a recipe, use the whole menu for the day, or even for the year. LOVE THIS BOOK!! I could see giving it to newlyweds, moms who have been cooking their whole lives and just want some down to earth recipes, or pretty much anybody. I think even guys could make some of these:)

The giveaway below is being hosted by the publisher and it is through all the blogs. But with a 10 book giveaway, it is definitely worth it. If you don't win this book, I would urge you to pick it up elsewhere. An amazing book filled with delicious recipes!!
