MY REVIEW-Let me just say, WOW! I have long admired Susan May Warren for her plots, depth in character developments and a writing style that pulls you in, even when you may be exhausted or not really that interested when you sit down. But this series has kind of set a bar for me. And I think this book outdid them all!!
The Christiansen Family Novels have really become some of my favorites. They are interesting, keep you enthralled until the end and we see the characters facing real life situations and struggles that anyone could be facing. That is part of what drives me to pick them up again and again. I trust Susan to delve into subjects that may be touchy and while they are, she does so in a manner that makes you think and search your own heart for how you would handle the situation. Take for example the one couple in this story. Max and Grace. Max has a health condition. One that in his opinion will never allow him to live a normal life, get married, have kids, etc. But when he stumbles upon a woman in Hawaii, actually on the plane ride over, that makes him long for love and romance, what does he do? I found the answers to be very interesting and his struggle quite realistic.
We also see the fight between brothers as some of them mature and grow up while others seem lost in their way. Those who may look like adults and yet in reality are still immature at heart. Selfish and wanting nothing more than to look after themselves. I don't want to give things away but I found myself cheering them on and even those who were struggling and finding their way made my heart ache. Because I see these situations in my own life and in those around me. Again, this is what makes the author's books so profound. Real life problems in characters you love. Thank you Susan for another amazing read!!
