A Film for the Whole Family! Releasing Tomorrow! Hero DVD Review & #Giveaway!

A father’s broken relationship with his family fills him with determination to win back the son he left behind.  Reaching out through the game they both love, he deliberately forms a baseball team designed to reconnect both fathers and sons, transforming their town in the process.  The story shows how one good man can lead change in his community for the common good.

MY THOUGHTS-It isn't often that I give full approval on a film now a days. I have seen way too many that I have problems with or I can't give it 5 stars. Hero is a movie about a father who has been absent in his families life until one day something tragic happens. So he returns, only to find a very bitter son who thinks his father deserted them.

The filming is done very well and doesn't look like some that I have seen. Looks professional and the acting was excellent as well. The biggest part of this to me were the lessons involved that would be great for any family to learn. We see a man who failed his family when they needed him the most, and he knows it. Sometimes his attitude was great and other times it wasn't. His son, who isn't a little boy but a young man, has a lot of trouble when he sees his father there for the other boys on the ball team but he remembers him not being there for himself. It is a hard situation to deal with but I loved how it was worked out. Everything isn't all rosy and they have rough patches to overcome. I like the outlook portrayed in that ball isn't the whole goal, but the lessons that can be taken away from the game.

I think my favorite character would be either the older coach(always there with words of wisdom, even for the father) or the youngest little boy on the team. His father is in prison but he wants to help his son. There are so many layers to this movie and I was close to tears once. Needless to say the whole family enjoyed the film including the little girls. So this isn't just for the guys! There is one time that a term is used that we don't use in our house, but it wasn't anything major. Otherwise great for the whole family!!
