Preparing for Easter with Max Lucado: On Calvary's Hill #Giveaway #FCblogger

This post is written in part with Family Christian. I received a copy of the book for free in exchange for my honest thoughts.

As Easter approaches I look for ways to incorporate appreciation for the season. This can include reading a book, turning on music about the Resurrection, etc. When I was offered the chance to review the following book by Max Lucado, I knew it would be a good one. I personally enjoy the way Mr Lucado writes but I also love reading about the crucifixion and Resurrection. And let me assure you, On Calvary's Hill, definitely lived up to my expectations.

This little devotional may be small, but it packs a super punch. I will never look at the Biblical account of the Crucifixion the same way again. This is technically a devotional with readings for 40 days, or you can do like I did and read several a day. Maybe one in the morning and then one in the evening as I did. I cried through parts of it as I pictured what our Lord went through to give us eternal life. But then came the joyous part and I had goosebumps as well as tears of joy. What a wonderful Savior!!!

Family Christian has graciously offered a $10 gift certificate to one of my readers. This can be used in store or online. Could go towards a purchase of this book:) Or anything else you might possibly want at Family Christian. The giveaway will end 3/25 and winner will be chosen through Random.org. They will have 48 hours to respond or another winner will be chosen. USA ONLY. ENJOY!

Favorite part of Easter is the reminder of what Jesus did for all of us.
And I love having dinner with my family.

Easter is a reminder of God's love. Max Lucado is one of my favorite authors, he writes amazing books for both adults and children.

It always takes me back to the play I was in as a teenager. I was Mary Magdalene. It was the only time I actually liked to be in front of a group and performing. (I have social anxiety disorder). It was such a moving play...He Is Risen. I love the story.

My favorite thing about Easter is thinking about the cost that was paid for me. I am so thankful and blessed.

We're doing this book too! I have used Max's words for Easter devotion time before and I love that they've compiled several all in one book. What a blessed Savior indeed!

I love sunrise services celebrating the true meaning of Easter-- Jesus dying for us and rising from the dead so we can be saved.

I love the Easter service, especially the triumphant gospel songs we always sing - He Lives, Christ Arose, Because He Lives - so good!
