Ever Bride Needs a Groom With #Review!

EVERY BRIDE NEEDS A GROOM BY JANICE THOMPSON

Small-town girl Katie Fisher is planning her wedding. Sure, her boyfriend hasn't managed to pop the question just yet, but that doesn't mean she shouldn't enter a contest in "Texas Bride" magazine to win the dress of her dreams, right? But when her boyfriend breaks up with her and takes a job in another town -- the very same day Katie wins her dream dress -- her world is turned upside down. Should she claim her prize? And will the hunky former pro-basketball player who runs the swanky Dallas bridal shop -- yeah, you read that right -- catch on to her humiliation if she does?

MY THOUGHTS-Janice Thompson is the definite go-to-gal when you want a lighthearted book that will make you laugh. Personally I have read every book she has written and I love them all. This is the first one that I felt started a little slow but once I got about 50 pages in, it really picked up. I knew to keep going as she always pulls through for the reader.

The book opens in the normal Janice prose. A young woman who is ruminating on her life in small town Texas and how good it is to live there with no thought of ever leaving. Why would they when life is grand where you are? She has loving family members, a boyfriend who is close to finally proposing and she just entered to win a dream wedding dress from Cosmopolitan Bridal. That is until her boyfriend breaks up with her and there is no wedding in the future.

Katie is quite a handful as a character but I loved her. She is smart, funny to be around and I loved her sense of humor. Okay, do I sound like I know her in real life? Janice writes these people like they are real and I so enjoy an author who does that. The hero of the story was a bit different to me. Brady is a former basketball player whose mother is taking a trip and needs him to watch the store while she is gone. Just a little odd to have this hunky guy working in a bridal store but it does make for some really funny parts!

If you are in the mood for some humor, this is the book to pick up. I did like this one less than her others but still a 4 out of 5 stars. Can't wait to see what happens in the next book where we get to see what goes down in the Katie and Brady tale!
