I was recently sent a package of products from Great Cakes Soapworks. This company is,
"Dedicated to creating beautiful cakes of handmade natural soap that are
gentle and moisturizing, richly scented and luxurious.
Discover the difference of a soap that is truly handmade from scratch
in the cold process tradition, just waiting to pamper your skin"
"I got started making handmade soap as a Christmas gift in 2002. Everything I read about the process from other soapmakers said that it was addicting, and so it was. I began selling my soaps at the local farmer's market the summer of 2004. In 2005, Great Cakes Soapworks was born out of the combination of my passion for my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and my passion to make great soap! It gives me great joy to create such unique and beneficial products. I have to thank my friends and family for being my most loyal customers, and for their rave reviews of my products."
I really enjoyed just searching through Amy's store. There are soo many scents and different types of bar soap I could spend a couple hours on there:) Anyways, I was very happy when she told me she would love to send me a couple products to review. Now pay close attention because you have the chance at winning something too!!
The first item I pulled out of my package was the bar of Cherries and Chestnuts soap. The color was so pretty! Not many bars of soap look this great:) I wasn't sure what to expect as I am not much of a person for bar soap. I have to tell you, I had no problems using this! It had a good lather which is my main problem using bar soap. The other difficulty I normally have is that it leaves my arms and hands feeling dry. Not this one! And my mother loved the smell:)
The second product was a tube of Vanilla Latte Lip Butter. Oh my word! I put some on and I am not kidding!! Every time I talked I had this delicious vanilla coffee smell going past my nose!! Made me thirsty for Starbucks:) I noticed a little bit of difference in the softness of my lips but I have only used it a couple times so I will probably notice more. I put it on every morning and then before bed.
Now I saved the best for last:) My favorite out of the whole package was the Lotion. It is a Jojoba-Shea Lotion and I go it in the Black Raspberry Creme scent. I love it!! This stuff is great:) I will be going back to buy more for sure. The lotion goes on and doesn't leave your hands feeling like grease. And the scent is the greatest. The only problem I had was after using it, my Mother started sneezing. The scent must bother her. So I put it on away from her and then wear it throughout the day. And I mean, throughout the day! The smell stays quite strong for a while.
You will have to try this to see what I mean. You will love it!
Now one of you will get to try it without buying anything:) Because Amy has graciously offered to hold a giveaway and one of my blog readers gets to win the same 3 products I received but in the scent you would like from her site.

This doesn't count for this blog post but where the heck is your profile to get your e-mail address? I can't find it! I have a couple of books you may be interested in reviewing. One is called "Bo's Cafe" by John Lynch, Bill Thrall, and Bruce McNicol... they also wrote one called Truefaced. Another book is "The Misunderstood God". Just throwing them out there.
I would try the Carribean Diva scent...sounds so tropical. Thanks for the info and chance to win!

Ohhh, I'm stuck! I can't decide between the black raspberry cream and the pink grapefruit and sugar cane.
But I think I would have to go with the grapefruit because I actually have deodorant in that scent...hehe.
Awesome shop, I have used her products before, and love it! I'm with you on the lotion, it doesn't have the greasy feel that most lotions do.
