Beside Still Waters By Tricia Goyer Blog Tour

Well, seems like we are having a lot of blog tours recently but I just have so many good books to tell you about! This one I received from Litfuse and I am so glad Amy sent me a copy for review. Beside Still Waters is a new book by well-known author, Tricia Goyer. Below there are details on the book as well as how to enter her wonderful giveaway! You must read about it below:)

Marianna Sommer believes she knows where her life is headed. Nineteen years old and Amish, her plan is to get baptized into the church, marry Aaron Zook, and live in the only community she's ever known.

When Marianna's family moves from Indiana to Montana she discovers life and faith will never be the same. As she builds an easy friendship with local guy, Ben Stone, Ben not only draws her heart, he also gets her thinking about what loving God and living in community is all about.

As Marianna struggles to find "home", she also encounters God in intimate ways. Click here to watch the book trailers. http://triciagoyer.com/contemporaryfiction.html#BesideStillWaters

MY REVIEW-This book is probably the first one I have ever reviewed by Tricia. I think I browsed another one while at a book store but this is the first one I ever read totally through. And it is about the Amish. I have to tell you, they are one of my hardest subjects to read about. So I was kind of iffy on this review. But I am always game to try a new author and a new book so I proceeded to review this one:)

I liked Marianna to a point. I think I had a hard time relating to her position as I am not Amish while at the same time I related to her feelings in a way that still pulls on ladies today. She wanted to be able to live her life in the way she thought she should but then her family moves from one state to another. She is thrust into a totally different world. Yes it is still Amish but in a different way. And I thought Ben was really nice. He is not all that different from her as Marianna first thought. He has a very sweet way about him. If you are into Amish stories, this is a good one for you. Even if you are not that into them, I was able to delve into the story and breeze right through it:D Overall a good book.

To celebrate the release of the first book in the Big Sky Amish series Tricia is giving away 10 copies of Beside Still Waters and a pair of super cute antique Amish salt & pepper shakers.

I don't really care for the Amish type books but this one might be interesting.
