Interview with Kathy Harris and Book Giveaway!

Hey readers! Today I have an interview with Kathy Harris, and a giveaway for her book, The Road To Mercy. This sounds like an excellent book and I am sure the winner will enjoy her prize:)

Thank you for being with us today, Kathy!!
Thanks for having me!

How long have you known you wanted to be an author?

I've wanted to write books since I was a child, but it took a while . . . several decades . . . to act upon that dream.

Can you tell me a little bit about your newest book?

The Road to Mercy is a novel set across several decades, from the late 1950s to the present day, with most of the story set in the present day.

Here's the back cover summary:

Tragedy, love, and secrets meet on a journey of faith.

Dr. Ben Abrams, rescued as an infant from a fiery crash that killed his family, turned his adversities into success but lost his heritage of faith. Fifty years later, Josh and Bethany Harrison face a difficult decision that also tests their faith. A rupture in Beth's carotid artery leaves her on the brink of death, even as she's pregnant with their first child. While Dr. Abrams urges her to abort the baby to save her own life, she and Josh step out on faith and_continue the pregnancy.

During the next few months, Josh, a contemporary Christian singer, struggles with his faith while Beth hides a secret that may destroy their marriage. She also discovers a decades-old connection to Dr. Abrams that could change his life forever.

When a reader gets done with your book, what do you want them to come away with?

I hope they'll be reminded that God forgives, even when we can't forgive ourselves.

Is there a place you have always wanted to visit? A vacation spot, historical monument, overseas, etc?

I would love to visit Israel.

If you could have dinner with 2 people, who would they be?

Wow . . . that's a hard one. I loved the book The Harbinger, so Rabbi Jonathan Cahn. And because of their Left Behind series, I'd like to add either Jerry Jenkins or Tim LaHaye to the guest list! That should make for riveting conversation. (I'll be the quiet one in the corner just listening. LOL)

What one event would you love to be at? Historical or future?

The parting of the Red Sea for Moses would be fun!

Do you have a favorite hobby?

Can I count my dogs as a hobby? LOL We have two Shiloh Shepherds and they take up a lot of time -- but in a good way. I also enjoy cooking for my family.

Is there something about you most people wouldn't know?

Most people are surprised to learn that I'm inherently shy.

Do you have any suggestions for the aspiring writer?

Experience is the best teacher, so jump on in! But you should know before you start that it's hard work and very addictive!

Any last thoughts for your readers?

I would love to hear from readers about The Road to Mercy, i.e. what they liked about the book (or didn't), who their favorite character was and why, and/or what they "took away" from the story.

And how can they connect with you?

My email address is kathyharris (at) kathyharrisbooks (dot) com. Or they can connect on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/KathyHarrisAuthor. Or on Twitter @DivineDetour. My website is www.KathyHarrisBooks.com and I blog regularly at www.DivineDetour.com

Thanks again for having me here today, Charity!
