Promotional Tags

Ahhh, it feels like spring is finally here. I can't tell you how wonderful it is to be able to go outside without a heavy jacket on and to feel the sun shining down on you. We went out today to do some shopping and it was almost too warm in the vehicle with my light jacket on, so guess what? I took it off and felt so much better. Today I want to talk about promotional items for your company, business, blog, or event. I mean things like name tags, business cards, flyers, coffee mugs, t-shirts, etc. I personally use these materials for my blog. They tend to get out to a lot of hands and a lot of people see the name of my blog. And yes, I have had people come from flyers and pens, etc that I have passed out. Believe me, this is a great way to get your name out there.

For the most part, I prefer things that a customer will keep. You know, the pens, pencils, mugs, etc. For some reason these tend to stick with a person after they have met you and left. And don't get me wrong, the impression you leave will make a big difference in the customer's opinion of you and your business, but at the same time, if they can't remember your name or your company site, it won't do you any good. That is why I tend to go with business cards or pens. They could throw them away when they get home, but not normally. They can always use them at home:)

The one exception I make for this is a promotional t-shirt. I LOVE how a customized shirt gets attention from people walking by or someone you meet at a convention. I have gone to the fairs and events where you may not have time to talk with everyone or give them something with your name on it. That is where the shirt comes in handy. If they see it, and it sticks out enough, they will remember it for later. Just make sure it is relevant to your product or site and that it makes them think of you. What promotional items do you use for your blog or company?
