Great Meals with Fresh Meat from ButcherBox! #Review

Today I have a company I cannot wait to tell you about. I was excited to receive this box and when it arrived, I was very pleasantly surprised by everything inside, as well as how it all actually tasted. ButcherBox is a monthly delivery service that specializes in grass-fed beef. This box is amazing!

I tried out several recipes with the meat, ranging from advanced to minimal preparation. I am actually going to be making two posts out of this because of doing all the recipes and pictures. And I have to admit, the general consensus is that this meat is so fresh tasting the difference is amazing, much more so than even our local butcher shop. In my box, I received bacon, pork chops, ground beef, steaks, chicken breast, a freezer bag and several recipe cards.

For the bacon, it was a pretty basic meal. We cooked it up for our breakfast, along with biscuits and eggs. I am going to say though, and I mean it with all this meat, it tasted so fresh!

I cannot stress the difference in the taste and the texture. I wanted to see what the rest of the family would say, without mentioning what I had used to cook, and they all said it tasted fresher.

Now for my chicken, I wanted to make a bit of a fancier meal, and let me tell you, I had so many requests for this recipe, that I had to send it to many of my friends. This is kind of my personal take on a recipe I saw somewhere else, but couldn't find the other one and just made up my own meal. I used the one chicken breast, received three total, and yes it was large enough to feed our 5 plus have leftovers.

Colorful Chicken Alfredo

1 large chicken breast
16 oz bow tie pasta
minced garlic
dash of olive oil
Two full handfuls of raw baby spinach
Small container of cherry tomatoes
16 oz jar of alfredo sauce

Dice the chicken and saute on the stove with minced garlic, a dash of olive oil and salt and pepper to taste. While the chicken was cooking, I diced up my tomatoes and set them to the side for later.

Boil one lb of bow tie pasta as normal, I add a dash of olive oil in the water, drain and put back into the pot. You want a pot big enough to put all the food in together, but it still needs to heat more at this point so don't put it in a serving dish yet. In the pot mix the pasta, cooked chicken, cherry tomatoes, two large handfuls of raw baby spinach and the alfredo sauce. I was going to make it homemade, but did not have time that evening. Let it simmer and allow the spinach to wilt, then put in a nice serving dish and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

Oh this meal turned out amazing! It was nice and soothing, with so much flavor and color. And you could take this recipe and play around with it, adding different vegetables or flavors, depending on what sauce you used. It literally was one of the best meals I have made this year, and the family loved it.

I will be doing another post shortly with some more recipes on how I used the other meat. We still haven't used it all, but definitely looking forward to trying the rest out. Also, if you are wanting to get some super fresh, grass-fed beef, delivered directly to your door, ButcherBox is the one to look at. Be sure to check them out on their social media sites as well.
