As I ventured out on a shopping trip today, I was reminded that it is about that time of the year again. This is that wonderful time of the year that my children beg me to drive them around town to see all of the pretty Christmas lights others have on display.
Tonight we shall cram into our car and I should set my securitychoice home alarm before we go out to look at Christmas lights and decorations. The wonderful noises of satisfaction will drift from my backseat as soon as we reach the first house, the wonderful chatter of the displays and stories of displays will drift from my backseat while I hum to the Christmas music I have softly playing from the speakers.
The giggles and awes make the drive well worth it and I know by the time we head home a few of them will be tired from our venture, but we have another tradition to keep after we return home. Every year after our venture through the streets of our town, we return to our warm and cozy home to make sugar cookies. The kids love to use the cookie cutters and decorate their own cookies.
Our traditions may differ from others ideals. But, this is our way of special time together during the holiday season and I will enjoy it!
