What Exactly is a CV?

I have to admit, I had no idea what a CV was before I was asked about writing this post. Those two letters did not mean anything to me whatsoever. But after I did some research and learned more about CV's versus a resume, I was glad I went to the trouble. Stick on with me for a bit and you just might learn something here ladies:)

Basically a CV is a Curricula Vitae. Or in layman's terms, it explains your skills, experience, qualifications, etc. Technically like a resume. Whatever you want to show to a potential employer, this is your chance to do it. A CV gives your whole life, not really, but it shows them what potential you have and what you have to offer. Again, this is very much like a resume, but from what I have seen on the internet, it is more detailed instead of just your name, education and work experience. It could include things such as areas of interest, grants or awards, references, examples of employment, etc. We are talking much more in detail here! And while this may not be exactly what you are looking for, it can be a big help for certain jobs. Check out what is available at cvrite and just look around. I will say this is most often used overseas.
