BOOK BLAST EVENT
Well, this was supposed to be the last day of the Book Blast event but I will be continuing it for a couple more days as I had some things that didn't come in in enough time for me to read them or get them done. So, some of them will be coming up the next couple days. But I will be posting some of my regular stuff as I tried not to do any during my event.
So, today I have author Angela Ruth with her book, Love Finds You in Sun Valley, Idaho. I will be receiving two copies of this book, one for review and one for giveaway. Hopefully they come in before the giveaway ends but like with some of the others, I can pass it on as soon as it comes in:) I will also get my review up after I read the book.
Thank you for being with us today, Angela!!
How long have you known you wanted to be an author?
My mom was a writer, and I grew up with stories about me published in magazines like Women's World. So in high school when I wrote a story about my cheerleading experience I just figured I should send it to a magazine the way my mom did. The story ended up being published as the first story in a new column for American Cheerleader Magazine. After that I was hooked. I studied journalism and worked for the school paper and started attending writing conferences before I even graduated. Myy mom was my first editor. So I had a little bit of an advantage over most aspiring authors.
Can you tell me a little bit about your book?
Love Finds You in Sun Valley, Idaho is about a stunt woman who returns to her homestate to film a movie and ends up falling for the movie's rafting coordinator. Unfortunately "Rafter Boy's" former fiance left him for the allure of Hollywood, and he has a grudge against celebrities. It takes a chubby uniciycle-riding eleven-year-old, a pastor with a jet ski ministry, and a loud-mouthed makeup artist to get him to give love a second chance.
When a reader gets done with your book, what do you want them to come away with?
I've noticed that everything I write has a theme of dreams and giving up our dreams--daring to have a life other than what we plan for ourselves. Choosing the dream giver over the dream allows God to give us something so much greater than we could have dreamed on our own. This is what inspires me about life and inspires me to write.
Is there a place you have always wanted to visit? A vacation spot, historical monument, overseas, etc?
Let see... I wanted to visit New Orleans after I read Uncle Tom's Cabin and Atlanta after I read Gone With the Wind and France after I read The Scarlet Pimpernel. But right now I'm thinking Disneyland thoughts because I promised my kids we would go when I sold my first book. I hope this is just the beginning.
If you could have dinner with 2 people, who would they be?
He's gone now, but I would have loved to meet John Hughes--screenplay writer for Home Alone, Dennis the Menace, and many more fun contemporary classics. And just for the entertainment factor, I would love to have dinner with my favorite comedian Brian Regan. They bring a lot of joy to people, which is a gift I greatly value.
What one event would you love to be at? Historical or future?
I honestly would have loved to see Joseph confront his brothers in Egypt. Talk about a dreamer who gave up his dreams for a much greater plan. That is my absolute favorite story of all times.
Do you have a favorite hobby?
I love to dance. So I teach dance aerobics. And I take my kids to the square dance hall for family line dance night. And I coach elementary school cheerleading. And I'm learning West Coast Swing. And I make up moves in my kitchen while cleaning.
Is there something about you most people wouldn't know?
I didn't take swimming lessons until college because I was deathly afraid of the water as a child. This is one fear my characters certainly do not posess.
Do you have any suggestions for the aspiring writer?
Write what you would want to read. Write your passions. And become passionate about making your writing better. Every book can always be better, so humility and determination will take you farther than anything else.
Any last thoughts for your readers?
My main character has two brothers who are not married, and I really want to write their romances. I would love to get ideas from readers about what kind of women Sam and Josh would fall for. So after you read Love Finds You in Sun Valley, you can help me brainstorm for the sequels!
I started my website before I chose a pen name, so for now readers can find out more about me at angelameuser.com. And I'm Angela Ruth Meuser on facebook. I look forward to e-meeting you!
And how can they connect with you?
I have to tell you, I am excited about reading this book! It sounds really neat and as this is a new novel, I am really excited! You know how much I like to feature new authors on here. Well, this is just another up and coming author:)

Hmm...it's hard just going off of the names...but since they're brothers, I think they should marry women completely opposite. My older sister and I are really close, but completely opposite! So, if Sam and Josh are this way...
I would say Josh marries a quiet woman who has had a painful past she tries to keep quite, but it gets out. Josh, feeling for her, steps up to comfort her as her scandalous past is found out. He doesn't care of her past, knowing she did not have a choice in her past actions, and she loves him in return for that.
Sam would marry a headstrong girl who is used to getting her way. She's the daughter of a rich man in town and often thinks herself above the locals. But when a sudden event occures - where Sam saves her life - she begins to see others differently. As she gets to know Sam, she realizes that just because a person wasn't rich didn't mean they had no honor or virtue. Sam is quickly taken with the headstrong beauty and she, in turn, soon falls for the heroic man who teaches her that everyone is equal in God's eyes.
Well, there you have it - my best shot off of there names. Knowing me, I probably totally got the two guy's characters flipped but...oh well! :-P lol
Please coutn me in on the giveaway!

I am 'old' and not too original. When I grew up, women became nurses or teachers, both outstanding careers. They would be great. And for names, how about sisters, April and May?

One..say Sam could have a run in with someone he feels is a know it all. Turns out she is the new town Doctor, with a passion for fly fishing. Of course this is Sam's passion too. Her name is Brynn Murphy MD.
Josh on the other hand has a run in with the new Elebith Montgomery. Whom he considers to be a rich socialite from NYC. Unknown to him, even though she grew up very wealthy, she is very involved in Saving the Children of the World. Their paths cross while Elebith is there trying to settle her Uncle's estate. He left a considerable amount of land next to the boys land!

What a fun idea. And such great ideas. Will I be meeting any of you at writing conferences? ;-)
Here's a little more background on the brothers...
1) Sam has just returned from the Middle East where he served his country in the military. He is the baby of the family, but the tallest at 6'5".
2) Josh lives in Chicago and works in sales. He's kinda slick--trendy haircuts, likes to wear a tie. He's actually engaged in the Sun Valley book, but it doesn't work out for him. He's a ladies man who got burned the one time he fell for a lady.
Hope that gives you more to go on!

Sam should marry a school teacher with a kind heart. Josh should marry a lawyer with a tough exterior but a softy deep down.
